NW Missouri State fired HC

not with their current HC. He throws people under the bus too fast.

People whine about Drink playing Cook yada yada. Drink is loyal and everyone wants to play for loyal coaches.
That is why I said we are at the (near) terminal stage. The admin giving a HC a vote of confidence during the season rarely ends well. Ditto the NFL McCarthy is at this stage in Big D.

Nixa should change their mascot from Eagles to ROYALS. Just joking for the serious set down that way....................:)

NW Missouri State fired HC

The old system you were there and committed. Leaving was painful. Move and take the one year off penalty. Without that, you've got 19 year old brains thinking the grass is greener somewhere else. If you have a crappy environment and people want to leave, they can. Another dynamic.
It is a symptom of society at large. During one of our semiannual retreat business meetings a couple of years ago we were shown a beyond shocking stat that the average youngster stays at a job for ONE YEAR. We pay well and have about as top notch benefits package as you will find anywhere in KC metro still have maddening turnover.

SW/SCMO Pick ‘Em Week 13

Curious, what is the best game to pay for this Friday and Saturday?

I look forward to seeing the talent on the field ... I have the utmost respect for the program and the school since I was treated extremely well by everyone when covering games there in 1999 and 2002. Have never had a negative experience with Platte County High School.

Last time I was in Platte City was June 18-20, 2021, my youngest was playing a USSSA Tournament and we played one game Friday night at Platte Ridge Park and then two on Saturday. It was one of those KC Sports 64 team events where you had to go 3-0 or 2-1 to advance to Sunday. My son, knowing that the College World Series had just started in Omaha, knew that if we didn't advance to Sunday, instead of driving back to Carl Junction, we would wake up Sunday and head to Omaha. After they lost Friday night at Platte Ridge, we got to parking lot and he whispered to me, "Omaha is starting to look really good about now."

Sunday morning we stopped at Dairy Queen in Platte City for breakfast, my son noticed the Platte County High School logo is very similar to our favorite college baseball program ... So let's just say if you see someone at Webb City Friday night standing in the northeast corner (my spot as a neutral observer) of the stadium wearing Oklahoma State apparel, it's kind of a dead giveaway.
Lots of family etc. ties to Platte City not gonna bore everyone with it all just suffice to say I agree with you wholeheartedly it is a very nice town and the school and fans, by and large, are very knowledgeable and respectful.

This is a (real) fun bunch to watch and keep in mind as you witness this one Friday night the core of this team is JUNIORS so they really are one year ahead of the curve (remind me a lot of 2002 Kearney).

Platte County is all different from those "muscle" Sherman years. Spread offense with perhaps the best gunslinger (certainly on par with Mitchell 2016) they've ever fielded. Like the aforementioned who became a starting catcher at OU Rocco looks every bit the baseball part. The huge key I saw last week is the supporting cast. Not sure how anyone will be able to hold that offense below the 30s the rest of the way but that is, as the old old saying goes, why they play the game.
