You Can't Be a Christian and Vote for Trump

    1. This should help you understand this issue. It really is pretty simple.

      1. Jesus also didn’t say a word about pedophilia, bestiality, or rape. You going to argue those things are ok also? The fact he was silent on this issue is pretty weak.

      2. You can’t have it both ways. People on this board always want to reject the Bible as God’s infallible word. Now because you don’t see it mentioned by Jesus you want to use the Bible. If that is the case you need to read what Paul had to say about homosexuality.

      3. Why would Jesus need to talk about an issue everyone agreed on? A great portion of Jesus’ ministry related to Israel and those familiar with the Law of Moses. They were living in an age under the Mosaic Covenant, which condemned this act (Lev. 18:22; 20:13).

      4. When Jesus did speak about marriage, He affirmed it as an institution between a male and a female. In Matthew 19, the Pharisees asked Him what He thought about divorce, hoping to trap Him into disagreeing with Moses and therefore finding reason for condemning Him. Now, in Jesus’ response about why divorce is a bad thing and a result of the hardness of human hearts, Jesus says, “Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”

      5. All of Scripture is the Word of Jesus, both Old and New Testament. So all of the talk about Jesus not saying anything is simply uneducated talk.

Your quote had nothing to do with homosexuality UNLESS we as Christians are still bound by Levitical Law. I'm still waiting for you to answer that question.

Are we bound by Levitical Law as your verse (which doesn't mention homosexuality implicitly or explicitly otherwise) seems to indicate. So I need you to answer that question before we go on. If you choose to ignore or dodge the question again I'm just going to assume that you know you screwed up and don't want to get demolished.

Are we bound by levitical law?

I don't know, I guess we are not bound by any law.

My guess would be that 0% of Christians adhere to all the laws in the old testament. I would also guess 0 % of Christians adhere to all the laws of the new testament.

What is your point?

How did I screw up?

Demolish me for what?

I quoted a bible verse for people to think on.

Based on that verse, would you assume Jesus was saying " Hey guys, nevermind the old testament or anything it said, it's cool bru, do whatever you want" ?

Ok so according to you we're still bound by Levitical Law.

1. Don't eat bacon.

2. Don't wear clothes with more than one fabric

3. Don't eat shellfish.

4. Touch a pig

5. Don't tear your clothes

6. Don't have unkempt hair (those Duck Dynasty guys are screwed).

Those are just a few. If you're following the Law still (according to your verse) please follow them all, don't cherrypick for the ones that fit your prejudices.

Hope you don't like bacon or lobster. Is your shirt made of only one fabric?

I'm not going to try to educate people like you and Veer about scripture. Both of you have proven in the past you are not interested in having a serious discussion and are more interested in giving your own warped views than what scripture actually says.

You can't have it both ways. Saying the old testament counts and also saying it doesn't. Either it counts or it doesn't.

People who take the entire bible literally put themselves in quite the logical pickle.
Then they ad hom attack and change subject or just don't answer.

It's pathetic. These so called Christians pick and choose what part of God's word they want to follow. Holier than thou indeed.

People who actually can read and deduce likely see your view as the one warped , 5k.

Were you lying or stupid when you said the market would hit 5k? Why won't you answer ? Scared?

This is why you can't have an honest discussion about the Bible with people like you. You guys lack the basic knowledge to do so. You are more interested in defending your warped personal beliefs that you are in having a real discussion about God's word. If you had any understanding at all you would understand that in the beginning there was only God. He is the creator....plain and simple. God took the form of man (Jesus) and lived on Earth to provide a plan for salvation. Then when he ascended back to Heaven he sent us the Holy Spirit. You might want to learn about the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit before you get into a discussion about scripture from now on. To say that "Jesus" never talked about homosexuality simply illustrates you don't understand the basics about scripture.

You have one warped mind if you think that is what the Bible is teaching.
1st, in those days the slaves were usually someone working off a debt (the borrower becomes servant to the lender).
2nd, Jesus was teaching people how to treat people regardless of position in life (a concept foreign to that society).

I don't take that part of the bible literally, because I use the brain the God gave me.
What does the brain God gave you tell you about Jesus being born of a virgin or raising from the dead? Do you pick and choose when to use that so called brain?

Twist it however you want.

Let's just be clear: You believe that the Earth was made in 7 literal days?

Yes!!!!!!!! Absolutely!!!!!!
Now, lets be clear......you don't believe the Bible.......period. But you will not own it. You want a faith that requires no faith.
Good thing you're not the ultimate decider of that.

To believe the earth was made in 7 literal days, you have to ignore reality and live in some universe where the laws of nature don't apply.

Do you think the laws of nature apply to the creator of nature? Is God not able to do anything? Do the laws of nature allow for a virgin birth?

What kind of a shallow faith do you have if you have an impotent God and a savior who could do nothing against the laws of nature? Takes a lot of faith to live by sight!

Do you ever answer a question or just divert like a good liberal?

You need to talk to your boy WCS Coach about dodging, deflecting, and diverting. I'm not sure he's just plainly answered a question in over a decade. I'm proud of you though, no matter how little thought you put into it or how stupid you sound, you'll always answer questions. Good on you.

Miller--
When you are debating with a non-believer of scripture you will just frustrate yourself. It takes faith to believe and the people of Israel had issues with faith even though they saw the miracles. This is why our education system is so damaging in America today. We have raised a few generations of people who believe in the creation, but not the creator. They trust their own intellect and wisdom instead of God's. There isn't anything you or I will say to change the way they think, only God can do that.

If there are parts of the Bible that are untrue then how can we believe any of it with any confidence?

There are things in scripture that man will NEVER totally understand. God says plainly that His was are not our ways. Many of the things recounted in scripter could be ridiculed if not accepted by faith.
1. The story of creation
2. The flood and the arc
3. Destroying Sodom and Gomorrah
4. The story of Babylon
5. The fiery furnace
6. The parting of the Red Sea
7. The plagues on Egypt before the Exodus
8. The crossing of Jordan
9. The story of Joshua and Jericho
10.. The Virgin Birth
11. The resurrection

I could list a hundred things a non-believer could pick apart and ridicule. Without faith it just doesn't make any sense. That is the one thing Jesus said before He ascended back to Heaven:

John 20:29
Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

God chooses to act in ways that can leave no doubt that He provided and not man. Otherwise man would never praise God and would take the credit himself.

The simple truth is that you either believe scripture as it is written or you don't.

Why do I even bother with you people? If you want to ignore the mountains of evidence that directly contradict the universe being made in 6 literal days, you go for it.

The title of this post is just wrong. If I vote for Hillary, does that mean I'm a Christian? I can make a compelling argument that Hillary is not a Christian.

At least she took the time to thank God. Trump was too busy being impressed with himself to be bothered with any mention of God.

Remember, Trump's own words, he can do it all himself...

I ignore nothing. You continue to ignore and dodge my questions about the virgin birth and resurrection.

You believe in a big bang of light.
I believe in a big bang of light.

You believe man came from the earth.
I believe man came from the earth.

You and science can't allow an all powerful Gods influence on these.
I accept that all powerful God caused these things as claimed.

You trust the explanation of science that has no way to allow for Gods impact.
I trust the explanation of all powerful God.
