Why hasn’t Lamar hired a new Coach?

Is it possible that no one has been offered the job and Bailey hasn't been hired anywhere yet?

Wanted:

Football coach. Must be willing to produce results that live up to the expectations of our patrons. A 14-1 season as state runner up will be considered a dismal failure. Candidate should be willing to accept a high probability of being tarred, feathered, and ridden out of town on a rail within three years.
Apply within.

i know some guys, that know some guys, and those guys know nothing... or they arent talking.
I am amazed at how quite they have kept it being a small town and somewhat of a high profile job. There have been a few rumors floating around town but pretty much just guessing and assuming.

Legitimate question, If bailey wants to stay in coaching why did he resign from Lamar?

Honestly I think it's a VERY tough sell.

There is little margin for failure and fans will demand success even though there was none for a long time. Bailey made winning in a place like Lamar look deceptively easy. It's a small school in a small town in the middle of nowhere. They will likely have to find someone with ties to Lamar or hope to find someone that isn't turned off by the prospect of living in a fairly remote small town.

On the other side, the community has proven it will enthusiastically support the team - at least if they succeed. Which should attract some interest. And it's been proven that a coach can win there with the kids that are there.

Hey word on the street is Lamar will have Turf next year.
If true, I have very mixed feelings about this. When you have grass that good why would you change but, one good rain late in the year and it could be pretty rough come playoff time.

Made it look easy- 4 AM weights and getting 70 kids to show up consistently every day in the summer - thats easy all right.

Man you should have seen him and J-Rod talking it up at the b-ball game. He is the classic suck up.
They are two of the most successful coaches in recent mo football history. Maybe they were talking about football...

Actually, although they both were in the Pitt program at the same time in the 80's, Bailey a Tight End and Rod a LB, maybe they were just talking football?

Here's a crazy thought... sometimes they even talk to each other on the phone...... and, from what I can gather from my experiences, EVERY conversation with Bailey is about football...... Odd, huh?
