Webb City, Lamar, and Maryville show why one high school communities should not complain about STL recruiting. There is no bigger advantage in high school football than being able to have the same group of kids start learning the playbook at 8 years and learning how to play together as a team. Kids that start playing together in 7th or 9th grade will not consistently be able to match up against this. If you create a culture, support athletic programs, and have sound coaching you can be successful. Look at the majority of successful programs, and you see a well organized feeder system and community support.
No. There’s no better advantage then having a OU kid who happens to transfer in. Or 10 plus players going to SEC schools or Big 12. In classes 1-3. Which couldn’t be a bigger advantage. These kids are hardly kids. Men playing with kids at that point. Thanks for that silly opinion though.
You can play together for years, and if nobody stands out then how is that a advantage? That definitely doesn’t equate to an advantage as easily as you think. Or anywhere near as easy as the recruitment and transferring of these private schools.
