What teams are impressing?

There have been lots of camps so far- Branson, Springfield, Nixa, the Tri-Lakes, Columbia, Jefferson City, Licking Camps, Ribb City in Dexter, Park Hills, and I'm sure many others I'm unaware of. What teams have looked impressive or surprising so far this summer?

Steelville was solid in Branson but definitely not what they were. Licking is silently out doing damage. Rolla is solid. Strafford is improved from last season. Saint James looked good for having some major graduation and injury issues.

West Plains is good again. Judd will be one of the best players in the state this season.

Lebanon should be better as well.

Webb City has a 6'4 freshman to be with size. She has been making a - pardon the pun - big impact in the games I've seen them play. It's unbelievable that she's only going to be a freshman

Strafford will likely make the final four again, whether they are Class 3 or 4.

Yes, Licking has indeed been doing damage from what I am hearing.

I have not had a chance to watch the central teams play yet but am making a trip up tonight to watch the last night of the Lincoln league. Jefferson City/Blair Oaks/Fatima/Helias/Smith Cotton/Capital City.

What is weird is from what I saw the Webb City 8th grade team didn't win many games last year. They were the 8 seed in the COC tournament.

Someone with that kind of size needs some good guards to go with her. The varsity team does have that at least

Miller probably goes back to class 2 plus the other Class 2 final four teams from last yr have most everyone back so it’ll be a mine field for Blue Eye to get through. They can certainly do it though

I don’t know who the Fair Grove coach is but I would take the Skyline’s freshmen because of Skyline’s coach

Come on now... FG throttled Skyline in jr high. Fair Grove would have went to 2 or 3 final fours if it wasn't for Strafford.

Before the Miller vs FG Varsity girls game last year the FG jr high girls played a game against Lebanon. I was super impressed by how good they were. They had about 8-9 girls that were very solid. They are going to be a handful the next 4 years.

Not sure Steelville has figured out all of their roles yet, but that being said only 2 of their 10 games in Branson were within 25 points, including the Class 2 State Champs. As far as Licking, they are absolutely setting their summer on fire! Great mix of size and athleticism for a hungry Lady Wildcats team, Coach Rissler putting together a team ready to make a run!

According to MSHSAA- looks like Since 2016 FG only played Strafford twice for District Championship- so they obviously needed to overcome some other schools first to even get a shot at it…

At the Lickng camp a few weeks ago Rolla roughed up Ellington as they should have and then a very average Fatima team really beat up Ellington even worse which was not expected.

Ellington sure did look good in the Class 2 Final Four last season and return most everyone from their championship team. But they didn't play a strong schedule and played only 2 or 3 large schools, so against the bigger schools that have size and depth, it isn't unfathomable that they would struggle.

But they are definitely a Class 2 contender I would think. Maybe they didn't have all of their players in the summer games, which is a big deal especially for a smaller school without much depth.

They had all their players. They arent a good camp team as they try to pressure hard all the time. Legs go quick.

FG, Clever and Mt V were all class 3 final 4 caliber teams 2017 2018 2019. They ran into Strafford on the road...game over.

Strafford has looked really really good. They have no weaknesses. Eldorado has looked really good also.

Will classes change again this year? I have heard some say that Last year's classifications were going to be good for 2 years. Wasn’t sure if that is accurate or not.

Talked to a few of the coaches and fans at the Lincoln summer league Tuesday night. Also watched a few games. Jeff City girls play hard but they are going to struggle mightily. Linthicum was out but even with her in the line up they will struggle against their schedule.

Cap City is better than last year but still going to struggle.

Battle was there with their new coach and they looked okay all things considered. I would say they are still an average big school at best.

Blair Oaks beat Fatima by 2. Fatima led most the game playing 5 in 5 out. Not sure why Fatima coach does this. About the only team I see that does this anymore. Both teams looked solid but not great. Graduation was hard on both programs.

Helias looks really darn strong with great guard play and the Koelling kid inside. Depth will be an issue with them.

Smith Cotton is a project.

I think she is a transfer and did not play with their 8th graders last year.

Didn't the Fatima coach play at Evansville in college?

No coach Roberson (Fatima boys) played at Evansville. Girls coach played at Maryville or UMSL.
