What’s Webb going to be like this year?

Webb returns I think just three starters on defense, maybe four? For most they would tend to struggle more, but Webb is different than most, especially if they have a hall of famer as their d-coordinator.
I thought I heard Bailey was just coaching D-line?

Easy there buddy!! We Doc Guys vary widely in age. To lump us all as "old guys" isnt accurate. Also, were from SPORTS DOCS!! Most of us played football at multiple levels. So it goes without saying, we also talk football. And if you truly didnt give a damn, why even make this post? Nice try!!! Nincompoop!!

Heard the Sophomore is Landon Zerkel’s little brother and has the same type of receiving skills and elite speed to go with it. The coach I spoke to said to keep an eye on this kid, he’s going to be something special.

So everyone is saying Webb has 2 more guys waiting to fill in anyway. Weird how no other schools have this type of talent waiting in the wings for 30 years straight.

Think the two kids played regardless in the jamboree I saw. The underclassmen is playing both ways while the senior is offense only. Just look up their hudls

Heard Senior Eric Fitch is going to be a pretty good add to both the offense and defense this year. Very strong in the weight room and big playmaker on both sides of the ball

Webb is underclass heavy. Whatever happens this year wont compare to the next several.

I have seen many supposed standout athletes move in to Webb that never cracked the starting lineup. Webb has replacements lined up back to the 3rd grade

Need to give some Webb talk going on here. It’s mid July and no State Championship talk from the Webb faithful, did ya’ll drop football or something?

Yeah the quantity of sports migrants into Webb is astonishing. I know gobs and gobs of families with kids in Webb sports and maybe 10% or less actually grew up there. A friend of mine always jokes about how in his neighborhood the "WCHS Senior" and a "For Sale" signs all start popping up at the same time every spring.

It has to be something like that. Can anyone name any other sport at any public school in the state that has been this successful for 30 straight years? It is statistically impossible to do this without kids from other places.

This happens a lot, all over the country. If you have a family, and are moving to a specific area, Wouldn't you try and find the best school district for your kids to attend? Webb city is great for athletics but is also really good academically. I am sure a lot of parents looking to move to the Joplin for work chose to live in CJ or Webb. just like in the business world Success breeds success.

I don't think anyone is doing anything wrong. You can't control where people move.

I totally agree, just like you can't control what private school kids go to in STL coming out of 8th grade.

When you say "actually grew up there," what do you mean? Also, where does the 10% figure come from?
