1st year with new coach and they’re not playing in the Nixa Tournament which has always been the most competitive tournament on their schedule. Wonder what that’s about.

Looks like they’re trading it in for the St Joe shootout. Wth

after looking, I guess they weren’t in that tournament last year either, so not the new head coaches doing then I would assume.

The 4 years they were in that tournament they were 9-2 in it.
I believe they won it the first 3 years.

They have done very well in the Nixa tournament but I don’t think their talent level is currently not close to the teams that did well in the Nixa tournament

WP has an incoming freshman that is going to be a good one. They also got a transfer from Thayer that will help out.

Curious to see how things go with the new coach. They are opposite ends of the spectrum from the last coach. As with all things WP it will be interesting

I hope your right about the freshman from Thayer. She wasn’t even one of the two best players at Thayer so it’s hard to imagine she would have a too much of an impact at WP but who knows. WP graduated a 4 year starter and probably the best ball handler/passer they’ve had in quite awhile and both are playing in college now.

For the sake of the program, I hope they do well, but for the sake of the people who wanted Womack out, I wouldn’t feel too awful if they just fell flat on their face.

I’ll be interested to see how they handle things defensively.

The 2 frosh can play. The McWilliams girl is an elite shooter. And she’s not the best of the 2. They may be down for a year, but if Otter is any good at all (and the jury is definitely still out) they’ll be really good very soon.

Who is the 2nd freshman at WP that is good?

The Thayer girl is a solid post player and will be a good role player.

Lost their first game to St James by 8.

Didn’t make any mention of it on their Facebook page. Even though earlier in the day they were posting about traveling to Rolla to play the game.

Hopefully this isn’t one of those coaches that only posts the positive outcomes and ignores the losses.

Lady Z were down 20 at half to FG last night and ended up losing by close to 20 I believe.

I know Fair Grove is GOOD, but even in recent years, they’ve played them tough. Not now though.

Looks like a completely new assistant coaches too.

Also don’t see the Adams girl even on the roster. She started last year if I remember correctly and is also one of the best pure athletes in the school. Wonder what happened there.

Lots of girls are quitting. The girl who was going to be the center for CJ isn't playing. She got varsity playing time last year as a freshman. She is listed on the roster but isn't in the team video so obviously something happened in between.

So what happened to some of the key returners from last year? Particularly Adams. She wouldn’t have been their best player this year, but the girl is an athlete and a competitor and started some and played a lot if she didn’t start last year.

My point being is 3 games in, they have only beaten one school and that school is half their size at best. Probably not even.

West Plains is 7-5 and have already went 0-2 against conference opponents before the conference slate even starts.

Combined W-L record of the teams they’ve beaten: 28-37

They have two wins over a team that’s above .500 and both are against Springfield Catholic who is 7-6

I saw them play Nixa a few weeks ago. I thought they played fairly well and played hard. They were better than I thought they would be. I wouldn’t be surprised if they aren’t capable of beating any Class 5 team in the area with the exception of Marshfield. But even with Marshfield you never know.

They already lost to Marshfield in the Pink & White but they’ll have rematches in the conference slate and possibly district tournament so we shall see.

Very inconsistent without Womack at the helm, that’s my opinion.
