Simpson has 3 guys reaching in on a trap situation with 30 seconds left after Webb misses two FTs and no foul called 🤣🤣

Hillcrest called for a touch foul with 20 seconds left. What a joke.

We’ll see how much that home court advantage helps against Central tomorrow LOL

he was trapped with nowhere to go and no timeouts left. Refs aren’t going to bail you out in that situation. It was a competitive game by 2 even teams. Refs didn’t a play a factor in who won or loss.

Oh yea, it was quite clear who was getting called for the ticky tacky bs and who was given the benefit of the doubt. But go ahead. “Refs aren’t going to bail you out”
All I heard was “refs aren’t going to call a reaching foul if 3 guys are all over you and reaching in at the end of the game”

This morning before I took my son to school, he asked me about the other quarterfinal games at Webb (he was at the CJ/Willard game) and I told him Webb defeated Hillcrest ... all he said was "just like death and taxes." I said yep, two things I have learned in over 35 years of following sports in the this region: 1, Don't bet against Webb City. 2, Don't bet against Webb City in the postseason. Doesn't matter if its football, basketball or baseball, it's inevitable they will find a way to win.

Especially if they're playing a Springfield area team and there are Joplin area officials calling the game...

I didn't even look to see who was assigned to work the games yesterday. I'm sure the Southwest Missouri Officials Association assigned it, I just have no idea who worked the games.

District officials are selected by an officials draft. The schools involved in each district can recommend and blacklist officials, and all of the sites hosting districts will have a meeting, used to be in person now MSHSAA does it via zoom and take turns selecting officials to work the different nights they are hosting districts. If someone is blacklisted they are not allowed by MSHSAA to officiate that teams game in the postseason.

I chose to watch college baseball on ESPN+ last night instead of the Webb City District on MSHSAA.tv otherwise I would have tried to look and see if I recognized any of the officials working the games.

I would like to know if they brought in four different three-man crews to work all four games, or did the crews get two games each last night?

@ChaoticFanatic … spoke to a friend today who belongs to the Southwest Missouri Officials Association as a football official but he’s an college assistant basketball coach so he was at the quarterfinals in a recruiting capacity.

I asked who worked the games and he said the first two games had the same crew and it was split up two Joplin officials and one Springfield official. The last two games had two Springfield officials and one Joplin official. No idea what the plan will be for today’s semifinals.
