Im torn, is Class 3 going to be exciting this year or not? There is no clear favorite, but seems like the level of play is down... or is that because the Class 2 level is so high?

I would consider Chillicothe to be the favorite. And I disagree that Class 2 is high. I think it's been the weakest class for years.

With Lutheran North and Trinity this year (and of course Lamar), please explain?

Heck, even in previous years you’ve had the SCA Class 2s beating Liberty in the regular season only for Liberty to get their revenge in Districts before giving Lamar their closest playoff games...

Think Class 2 top heavy. Only 3 teams have any chance at championship.

Class 3 10-12 teams could possibly win it.

Can Lincoln or Pierce City make a run in class 1?

Ya, but considering the fact the top three teams in Class 2 would probably win Class 3, I’d still say Class 2 is stronger (even if Class 3 is more “competitive”)

Have not seen any of the other Class 2 school besides Lamar. However word on the street is those in st. Louis are playing with a stacked decks. So I would say only Lamar could compete consistently in class 3. But mark my words whoever comes out of district 4 will make it to the championship game, Those teams are battle tested.
Mits are you excited to join the big 8 next year? Just think the best the COC small had to offer this year would probable not have finished in the top 4 in the BIG 8.

I think Higginsville is going to knock the socks off of Lamar! Stamp it!!!

I’m going with Veer’s Mizzou/SEC logic here; now that Rogersville is in probably the best small school conference in the state, they are now one of the best teams in the state simply by association! :D

BIG(8)! BIG(8)!

I hadnt thought of that..... YES!!!!!!!! Best in the state !!!!!!

Approximately 10. Before the multiplier, St. Pius and John Burroughs were usually in the mix in Class 2. It was very strong then.
It's been strong longer than that. I would agree around 2012/13 it started to decline. 2010 Penney was as strong as any of the Lamar teams. Around the time Blair Oaks, Centralia, Macon et all moved up to Class 3 and when Penney moved down is where I would divide it.

The good thing about not having a clear front- runner in Class 3, would be some very competitve games in district semi-finals and beyond. Blow outs are not fun to watch. We could have a Class 3 champion with 3 or 4 losses.

What 3 or 4 loss teams do you think have the best chance?

Can Lincoln or Pierce City make a run in class 1?
Lincoln-No, their strength of schedule is suspect.

PC-Probably not, schedule isn't great, but better than Lincoln's. Their best years may still be ahead of them with their best classes, athleticism and talent wise, being freshmen and sophomores. Size was a big part of the senior class though.

Out of this area, I could see a team like Aurora, Cassville, or possibly Mt Vernon win their district. After that, it would be a toss up with just about any team they played.

Both will have to battle to win their district. Lincoln is in a weak district but could go farther because of who they would face down the road. The winner of PCs district gets the Valle/Hayti district.......road ends there.

My money’s on Thayer to win Pierce City’s district.
I guess I question a team that loses to a team that lost to Houston the week before. Thayer may well win the district but I see nothing real scary in their seasons results.

Put any other team in that district through Thayers schedule and they wouldn't even finish 6-3 as Thayer did. That's a fact.

Oh, my apologies. That’s my opinion. Feel free to counter which team in the district would have done better?

Never said any would. I said it wasn't a FACT. It is a reasonable statement but in no way a fact. We will see who is what starting tonight. The SCA may dominate all their districts or they may fall flat on their faces.

Who wins the Adrian District? Can they knock off Lincoln?
