Webb Vs Kearney

Webb City wasn't really "held" to 14 in 2008. Boo Rodgers had a pick 6 and chose to take a knee rather than score. The general point is correct that Kearney has done better than any team in recent history of defending Webb City.

I do think WC is a more versatile on offense than the 2008-09 editions not that it really matters. I think the game is going to be closer to the 2008 game than the 2009 or 2014 games.

Kearney also had a pretty clear cut TD called down at the half-yard line in the first half (God rest his soul Floray told me all about the film webbpa had)................Jones went for the FG and Boo blocked it keeping the score 7-0 at half.

Not making the trip to the Lou--but wishing everyone safe travels. I can't wait to watch this game. I have much respect for Kearney. It's a fun rivalry. I do want to see Coach Smitty go out with a "W" though. He deserves it.

Where exactly is their trophy case located then? Do they have a spot reserved for trophyies at the EJD as well. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest

No trophies at Arrowhead but there is a nice area recognizing all the previous season football state champions. I have written the season highlight for the display the last few years.

Kearney competes with Webb. Only team in State that can beat Webb is CBC
who has 5 D1 signees on offense. Any other team is dreaming. Blue Springs and Webb
would be good. Only way Webb has to work for a State Championship is if they move
to class 6 or decide not to play one year.

And yet, they had Kiante to come through when they needed a big first down. Not the same team brotha...this Kearney D is faster and their O is more effective. You got the benefit of playing K's third best team of the last three years, last year. Their O was not effective sometimes against average teams. Not the case this year.

The past couple years, it has been a 3Star WR that burned Kearney. versus LSW it was Harrison (4Star) and Kiante last year. It takes a good combo to beat Jones when he has the right people.

Also worth noting is Kearney has done this WITHOUT the Davis brothers (last year Zack was their best offensive player by far and went down in the Ray South game while Jess went down in the Excelsior game this year). Thankfully Jess gets one more shot as he is just a JR.............the pass offense for Kearney in 2016 could really be something.

This team was comparable with the 2013 Class 5 Bulldogs. That offense might have done better in a game like today's...but this defense was better. Yes, they really missed Jess Davis during this playoff run...seeing Webb's defense, they could have taken advantage with him in the game...too bad.
