Webb Vs Kearney

Not sure who he is? Safe travels to the dome. I work Friday night. Will be watching on tv via MSHSAA.

This could be good game. I know nothing about this Kearney team but kearney the program has had a little success vs Webb. As for Webb it really helps them being inside at the dome . Tyson throws the deep side line ball well, it's their go to play. If Kearney has a good fast cover guy to handle that play so they can stuff the box it may be a close one.
I know Kearney kids will match Webbs intensity its in their DNA just like WC. I don't think the bulldogs will play scared.

Webb has three decent recievers who go 6'3",,,6'4",,,,and 6'7" better have someone with some size to cover them not speed. Defense brings people up to stop the run its going to be bombs away :)

And Tyson threw some of the best passes I've seen all year--I think it was in the W. Plains game or Harrisonville. Don't remember, but I saw two lasers deep. Hey, if they can hit those...watch out...it could be a long day for Kearney. Of course, Kearney is the second highest rated team they have played all year--next to Har-ber, and the K defense has only given up (the starters I should say) 56 points all year. But the achiles heel is there.

3.2.1...I get blasted by Kearney fans now....

It is going to be a damn good football team played between IMO 2 of the top 5 teams in the state regardless of Class. Again I think playing in the dome will mean the offenses will have a little more success than they would out in the elements but I still expect more of a defensive game.

that's the only way they will stay in the game and less tyson over throws is receiver he game open for web but he's been telling perfect asses down the sidelines lately that's the play the brakes the game open for web city they don't have those big bombs on yah kearney have a chance.I doubt they have 6 3 cornerbacks so they better have speed to be in position

Anytime your quarterback is "telling perfect asses down the sideline," you know the other team is scared to wrap him up. With this new bit of information i move my prediction to Webb by 56. 42 if they cant block the new "ghost" defenders Kearney has.

I said a few weeks back this Webb team may be in trouble against a strong passing team. I still feel that way, regardless of the adjustments made after the Rock and Har-Ber games. Webb has to bring the A team from the start of the game based on K's defensive numbers coming into this game. Webbs defense has to stick like glue to K's receivers. If Kearney can take out the option with their speed....it could be a real nail-biter.

Could be but I doubt it. Although it is Coach Smith's last game on the sideline. His shoes will be very difficult to fill.
People are going to see next year just how critical Smith was to our success. I believe we'll see our first real down year beginning early in the season. Enjoy St Louis this week.....

But Kearney lost their best deep threat four weeks ago. He was at 650 yards, well on his way to over 1,000...Jess Davis. Hasn't hurt them against PC, Hannibal or Westminster, but I'm guessing it might against Webb. Too bad.

Sure hope you mean 3 touchdowns and that is being nice. No way
Kearney competes with Webb. Only team in State that can beat Webb is CBC
who has 5 D1 signees on offense. Any other team is dreaming. Blue Springs and Webb
would be good.
Only way Webb has to work for a State Championship is if they move
to class 6 or decide not to play one year.

Did you mean Blue Spgs SOUTH?

I'm well aware of the concept. I'm also aware that 97% of the people on this message board are mouth breathers that need help tying their shoes every morning. Predictions and opinions are awesome & I enjoy reading them. They entertain me. However, definitive statements that are void of fact or proof are ignorant & should be treated as such.

I've really been thinking nailbiter...but one major mismatch in the defensive backfield for Kearney, and they could be exposed. IF Tyson is on...i think.

If you were aware of the concept then you would have said stop typing! :)

I was very impressed with how long this thread has gone before it began to get childishly personal. I think it shows that we have a great deal of respect for one another. Anyway, I think it should be a great game and I hope we both play well. I do think Webb should win this, but you never know 'til it's played.

Yes, everyone should be celebrating... since going to the six class system, we have by far the two best teams:

Webb: Seven Class 4 Championships
Kearney: Three Class 4 Championships

LSW, Camdenton and Clayton each with one.

Obviously, we have here two communities that have nurtured a winning culture. And win or lose, nothing changes the commitment to excellence.

You don't make up 97% of the people on this board, therefore your estimate of people like you is off...

It's going to be a good game but it's hard to pick against Webb ever. They are better prepared than their opponents and that shows over the course of a game. We play great team football but our coaches are hands down the best around. Webb by 14 but it'll be close at half.

This is probably the most anticipated matchup of the 3 big classes. I live in the Fort Osage school district and ours is huge if we get our first title. But because of history, Webb Kearney will be a game I'm also looking forward to.

Well in the last ten years (I almost said decade) Webb is like 104-3 and I would guess average score would be about 42-14 Webb,,,so wouldn't Webb supporters naturally think good chance it will happen again.

But to Kearneys credit they are one of the three!!

And Kearney is 3-2 versus Webb the past 13 years...so naturally, they don't think Webb is invincible.

And they are 3-3 overall. You bring up past records of teams quite often and i fail to see how it is relevant. Monett used to own webb city back in the day , therefore Monett > Webb City

I would say relevant. The reason, I think jones has done a very good job when he meets up with Webb. I may put too much credit on the sidelines but we certainly give a lot of credit to ours. It will be interesting to see how well Webb runs the option against a very fast, (now I'm basing this off Hats comments) swarming D. This K team may be of similar size and speed. Thats a more difficult opponent for this years team than a team with more size. IMO

I get bringing past records to a certain extent. Fact is kearney has always defended webb well. Then again Webb has done the same except 03 when Kearney was super good and Webb was very far from it. ( We beat nevada 19-6 that year) Kearney is well coached, but the fact that kearney beat webb twice in a row when these kids were in first grade is pretty irrelevant. If you are looking back on scores and going more than a year or two back it means nothing. Different years have different kids and different teams

1. Someone else brought up the ten year history. I just extended it three more years to make a point.
2. 2008 and 2009 are relevant because Webb was held to 14 and 13 in those games...in years where they were averaging 40+ a game on offense. And that was the Jones staff coaching those teams.
3. I just like twisting Webbies a little, because Kearney is 3-1 at your place.
