Who are they and where have they committed? They can't legally be signees yet since the signing day is in Febuary..Sure hope you mean 3 touchdowns and that is being nice. No way
Kearney competes with Webb. Only team in State that can beat Webb is CBC
who has 5 D1 signees on offense. Any other team is dreaming. Blue Springs and Webb
would be good. Only way Webb has to work for a State Championship is if they move
to class 6 or decide not to play one year.
At last there appear to be few really clear cut games in the Dome this year (except Class 2). After a month of rain/wind now we go back to essentially August football as the field temperature (lights and climate control) will be the only external factor. Since K and Webb are the deepest teams in C4 I expect that to be less of a factor in this one. No idea how it will turn out but the matchup I cannot wait to see is Kearney's quick, rush to the ball D vs. the best O they will have faced in 2015 by far. On the other side of the ball those holding pens have to be cut big time and K MUST sustain and finish drives to have a shot. As last year showed any elite defense left on the field too long will tire out (especially true in the aforementioned Dome conditions). This should be a great game! Wish it was on FSMW! Ill take webb by 3.
I know their RB Tre Bryant is Committed to Nebraska, but haven't found the others.Who are they and where have they committed? They can't legally be signees yet since the signing day is in Febuary..
Kearney is as impressed with Kearney as Webb is impressed with Webb. I like Kearney's chances.Kearney defense is better than Webb D? Better than Webb O? Better than they were earlier in the year? Better than other defenses Webb has faced?
Just wanted to clarify what you were referring to.
The other key is Kearney is not "awestruck" by Webb (but highly respectful obviously). It will be more fun than the proverbial barrel of monkeys Friday!Kearney is as impressed with Kearney as Webb is impressed with Webb. I like Kearney's chances.
In all fairness I think there are a number of teams that would not be awestruck, either, but those who have not seen Webb's offense (this was particularly true the first Rock game last year) are thrown off by it...............you can watch all the film you want but virtually nobody has the athletes to really simulate it in practice. They won't be awestruck by Webb. Probably about the only team in the State that wouldn't be. They'll be ready.
It looks like they've had some (the QB was an obvious one) injury issues. Give them tons of credit, though..............champions play through it and they (like my beloved Sooners last night) escaped death in that weather-altered CJ game! I really, honestly have no idea what the spread will be just know you cannot make a 5-time defending champ an underdog no matter what.Webb is Webb, but they not been as dominant as usual in several games this year (I think this game will be close...)
After the tail kicking Kearney took last year in the semifinal game they probably are highly respectfull. These kids were 11-12 years old the last time Kearney beat Webb, I doubt most of them were even presentThe other key is Kearney is not "awestruck" by Webb (but highly respectful obviously). No way Webb can tackle a Ghost. It's lock now. With the weather not being a factor on on game day...the K offense Could surprise the Webb defense. Not underestimating the Card by any means...But it won't be a cakewalk like most are predicting. The K defense will be ready for the running game. There are some "GHOST" key players that has been very humble under the radar... Should be a great game by two very disciplined teams... Hoping for an injury free gàme.
Lol...I was referring to some K defensive players that will be key.No way Webb can tackle a Ghost. It's lock now.

No, its a small town...they know all about it. They remember that Webb only scored 13 against Kearney in 2009, and 14 in 2008.After the tail kicking Kearney took last year in the semifinal game they probably are highly respectfull. Kearney's starting D has only given up 56 points this year... You're talking pretty big considering Webb is 1-3 versus Kearney at home.Sure hope you mean 3 touchdowns and that is being nice. No way

and yet they gave up 35 points to Webb last year didn't they??No, its a small town...they know all about it. They remember that Webb only scored 13 against Kearney in 2009, and 14 in 2008.
Webb's pass defense was suspect early in the year but they made some changes that have helped tremendously. Now I don't think we've seen a passing attack as good as Rock (with their starting QB) or Har-Ber since they've adjusted so that plays into the defense playing better as well. I always have an uneasy feeling in my stomach when Webb plays Kearney. It's probably suppressed memories of the 2002 and 2003 playoffs haunting me. Should be a hard hitting fun game. I'll take Webb by a TD in a defensive battle. Two best teams in the Class 4 field by far. I love what I saw in some deep passes from Tyson R. a couple games ago. Best passes I've seen other than Mill Valley (with a D1 WR prospect and a D1 Baseball prospect for receivers.) Like the O. line for Webb too. Explosive team with not many mistakes. At different times, Webb's pass D has been suspect (like the first drive by Rock before their starting QB went out.) Kearney - lots of penalties. Too many mistakes. Talented, well trained and excellent coach. Missing their best WR as of three weeks ago. Now they need him because it would help tremendously in this effort. Likely to be a 10 point or less difference.
I think the only thing that matters this week is the kids playing on the field. And Kearneys kids are 0-1 against the Webb kidsKearney's starting D has only given up 56 points this year... You're talking pretty big considering Webb is 1-3 versus Kearney at home.

Kearney's O was very effective for the majority of the game against Westminister..And yet, they had Kiante to come through when they needed a big first down. Not the same team brotha...this Kearney D is faster and their O is more effective. You got the benefit of playing K's third best team of the last three years, last year. Their O was not effective sometimes against average teams. Not the case this year.
I heard Coach Jones goes gator hunting out of season!!!!!If I remember correctly, the last time these two teams played, Kearney had a death to one of the coaches family, and a Webb City fan (not on this board) used it as a point to trash talk?
