Trinity -Lutheran North result?

My favorite play was in the first quarter when the officials blew the play dead and for some reason everyone but the LN running back heard the whistle. Everyone is standing up accept maybe a WR blocking a CB and the running back is dancing around trying to find a hole while everyone stares at him. Finally a Trinity player tackles him for good measure.

Watched the game today. Looks like both teams were playing for stats. Coaches will get the mistakes cleaned up and be contenders in their respective classes.
LN will be fine. Trinity seems to have dropped off quite a bit. They will severally miss that QB. I think conditioning could be an issue for both.

One other note from the game. Should we start a go fund me to help LN buy a lawn mower?

I’d guess most of these kids have fathers in the home. Someone obviously cares enough to buck up for tuition. That shows parental concern for their education. Not that a single mom couldn’t pull that off, but I’d bet it normally takes two good parents to pull off that kind of dedication and funding.
This is what I’m implying. I also know parents who will help volunteer to help with these kind of things. Just something you see more in smaller schools.

Most private schools have benefactors that help provide funds for scholarships for needy students. I would guess not very many students end up paying the full $12,000 tuition.

I root for some of those teams to get destroyed weekly because I think it's BS what they are doing but let's not make it about race . Some have . StL guys responded with white race stereotyping ...also not right but can we keep this about football?

As far as football goes ...I think most of those teams suck. Their execution is terrible . They however have the talent to make up for it . It's hard to watch but they win bc they have elite players

When I say "suck" I'm not talking about wins and losses . But they should be much better than they actually are . They should be unbeatable. They are evidently not well coached

If you saw a team with LN or Trinity's talent playing with say Webb Citys execution and discipline....they would be Nationally ranked and almost impossible to beat

Not one to cry racism but wow. This oozes racist stereotyping. No defending this .

I think you are acting like a leftist. Not what I’m intending at all. Wouldn’t we all get along better if we assumed better from all until it’s time not to? Just a thought. You don’t personally know me at all bub.

If some of these teams get legit coaching staffs then they will probably win state every single year

I'm far from a leftist but you are implying that since they are a mostly black school that they don't have father's that taught them how to cut grass ? Justify that

Last time I checked ...they players nor their parents mow the HS field ....spin it however you want but wow. It's straight up DISRESPECTFUL. I believe it's up to the school staff to mow the field and not the presence of the players father's. It was an aweful statement and I was appualed by it .

I have. Obviously didn’t elaborate enough, or you didn’t read. Both are true. It wasn’t meant to be a slight. It was a observation of community differences. I’m from a small town. We all pitched in to help with the football field. The school either lacked the ability to keep the grass cut, or just knew the community would pitch in. I was making a observation about that. Obviously in certain aspects it’s a factor. There’s not as much of a community pitch in ability in STL. There’s a lot of sad situations that can possibly prevent that help. It wasn’t meant for a slap against a community or to be racist.

You obviously don’t have a mind that’s willing to be negotiated with. Your choice has been made. You don’t have to believe me. You have already called me a disgusting person. Which is as ugly as me not fully explaining myself from the start.

I dont buy it a bit but I'm smart enough to not argue about it . You made me defend STL which I never thought possible lol . Most towns don't have Forrest Gump to mow their field bc they like to do it . They have staff that takes care of it when they have time ...mostly janitor or "maintenance". At any rate ...bc lack of father's to teach them is NEVER a reason .

Are you from a small town in the early 70s? Like small, small? With a lot of poverty? Maybe I’m stuck in thinking that small schools are even allowed to still operate in that way? But that’s what I saw. You make a lot of assumptions. Including one about someone you don’t even know. I’m not arguing with you. I’m explaining and defending myself as a person, since someone who wants to keep things about football, is calling someone racist. I understand it looks bad. And without context or wording it far better it’s understandable. I’m sorry I allowed it to be taken that way.

Wow, haven't been on in awhile. I forgot to re-post this....

What? Nobody wants to play at Illinois. Besides Overhyped STL kids of course!

Don’t worry. None of your kids have the option to. Walmart and Dairy Queen are giving away full rides down there like candy though. Lol

Grant Wistrom graduated from a school in SWMO and won a super bowl ring playing for the Dairy Queen Blizzards.

Thanks for clearing that up.

I stand corrected. One player from THE winningest high school football program in state history ABSOLUTELY proves your point that SWMO kids get recruited to college programs as much as STL area kids do.

Yea this is tasteless.

Absolutely nothing to do with football either.

Some of you guys have serious problems.

There you go again, Joe.

What’d I tell you about “throwing a rock, then hiding your hand”?

Things like that happen when you’re led by your emotions and don’t think before you speak.

I especially like the part where you try to walk back your statement by claiming your quip about Black kids in STL not having Fathers around or a supportive community is “fact”.

Keep digging that hole, bro.

So....they get a whole lot more done with a whole lot less?

Is it because they play harder? Are better coached? Their players are more worried about their teammates as opposed to transferring willy-nilly to serve individual needs?

Yeah. I’m sure THAT’S why college coaches don’t offer those kids scholarships. Their teamwork is TOO good and their personal sacrifices are TOO great.

Lamar and Webb got a lot done. Every other fan here just co-opts the glory of those two schools and uses it to make themselves feel accomplished.

What’s the big deal? According to you guys, none of your kids are interested in playing college football anyway.

Well I don’t have a dog in this fight, but I believe 60% of households with children 18 or under in St Louis City are single parent, and 40% of children in the city come from households below the poverty level. Not a very conducive environment for learning.

When you throw in the fact it’s the most dangerous city in the nation it doesn’t paint a very pretty picture

Heck I remember Webb City graduate Alan Spencer catching a couple of Touchdown passes wearing a Vikings uniform agains the Chiefs,,,,,there must have at least been two :)

For someone that claims to not be involved with Joe’s comments, it sure didn’t take you long to produce dubious statistics and use them in EXACTLY the same way he did.

It seems really difficult for you to comment about Trinity, LN and Ritter football without the inevitable suggestions that Black communities in STL and gang and drug ridden, fatherless, impoverished communities whose kids are “scum” (You edited your comment, Rawdog, but only bc I called you out on it).

What’s dubious about them??

Geeze the mayor just offered a $100,000 reward leading to the arrest and conviction of any of the multiple child killers in the city .

I don’t think a very few kids getting football scholarships should be very high on your priorities if you come from that part of our state

The statistics are accurate, no one is saying they aren't, but there is 0 correlation between the grass field length and parenting in the community.. I get you guys come from small towns that are awesome and the community loves football, so did I, but guess what, the schools maintenance crew cut the field, just like all of yours did. Fact is, it was a bs statement that should have been called out and I am glad it was, throw all the stats you want at it, it won't change, you're just putting lipstick on a pig at this point.

And you have the ability to make that choice for your own kids. The issue, is that you guys seem preoccupied with other parents making decisions not aligned with yours.

Nah. No issue. Don't lump me in with "you guys" and I won't lump you in with them guys. You don't know me and I don't know you. Every parent better make the decision that is best for their child, that's their number one job. What I know: I have watched these recruited dream teams go down every year (with one exception), while the real programs have success year in and year out. I follow the antics with much delight. It's very entertaining! Wish those kids well, but unfortunately we'll see way more fail than make it to anything meaningful past high school.

Better get off here.....Blizzards to make!

You just lumped YOURSELF in with those guys.

Don’t like private schools? Fine.
Don’t like St. Louis? Fine.
Don’t like recruiting? Fine.
Don’t like MSHSAA? Fine.

The problem here is that you regularly make the jump from those feelings and opinions to fabricating a reality where families and kids that go to college-prep high schools where 98% of the kids go to college aren’t going to “do anything meaningful past high school”.

St. Louis Area high schools REGULARLY win state championships and win year in and year out. YOUR issue is that you can’t stand seeing kids you don’t like, from places you don’t like, doing things that your kids CAN’T do.

Lastly, every small town high school isn’t Lamar or Webb City. You don’t all get to claim glory when they win consecutive championships, then pretend YOU won them too. If you were really that satisfied with your kids’ accomplishments, then you wouldn’t be rushing here to shit on kids.

Put extra sprinkles on my Blizzard.

Stereotype much? So much false stuff in this post, we better just end it here. For the record, I am from Lamar.

Never once did I say nor did I imply that they get recruited MORE.
But saying that Southwest Missouri high school football players end up in Dairy Queen’s and Walmart’s is a tad ludicrous.

Justin Britt from Lebanon is another who made it all the way. Starts for the Walmart Seahawks, point being, guys from SWMO can make it. There are more in the League too.

St. Louis area is putting out more recruits now but honestly, they should be.

There are 1.1 million people in St. Louis County. That means that 17% of all residents of the state of Missouri live in St. Louis County.

And when you throw in KC. That means that about 35-40% of the state is in those two cities/counties, so from a statistics standpoint, they should be putting out more recruits than the sparsely populated areas of the state.

Nothing to pound your chest about, it’s just statistics and probability based off of population.
