The entire world seems to be coming out to support Ukraine and condemn Putin. I was leery about supporting US military involvement in Ukraine when the attack started. Like many Americans, I am tried of the US being the world's police force when conflict arises around the globe without other countries doing their part. I am overjoyed to see so many countries showing support. By bringing war to European countries' doorstep, we may finally have a coalition of allies to fight the battles on the opposite side of the globe.

Russia will be struggling financially for a while after this. I think we should cut off buying their oil and buy from Venezuela.

Maybe the President or congress should force big oil right here at home to open the spigots on the wells they have doing little or no pumping right now AND refine it for our use only. That alone would give us plenty of oil and gas. BTW what has happen to all that oil in Iraq?

Oh so big Govt should adopt a Model of forcing business to do what is not in there best interest's. Or maybe the Govt could remove most or all of the taxes on gas at the pumps.

People want our government to do something about oil in other countries but not here? If they drop the federal or state gas taxes we won't have any money to maintain the roads or upgrade any of them that are scheduled to be upgraded. Somebody in Missouri already has a bill ready to drop the state gas tax.

I was in west Texas last week working on a Fraq sand facility at Kermit. When the price of oil went below zero two years ago producers stopped pumping oil they couldn't sell. Fraq sand producers in the Great Lakes region who normally sent sand by rail to oil fields from El Paso all the way north to Canada shut their operations down,and rail capacity was shifted to other regions and commodities. Fraq sand was and is supplied by limited regional producers who cannot produce enough sand for current production much less expanded output.

you don't just run out in an oil field and turn a valve open and watch oil shoot out like in the movies

FWIW Iraq is producing more oil at the present time than it has in the last 50 years

People want our government to do something about oil in other countries but not here? Somebody in Missouri already has a bill ready to drop the state gas tax.

Since the day Biden took office he has been doing everything possible to choke the oil industry and hasten the switch from fossil fuels to "green" energy sources.

Then why is it that a guy on this board that owns a couple of oil wells says they have cut production to increase profits? This is an oil well not a fracking operation and they have slowed it down just like the Saudis have done to put us in the situation. They could crank it back up jay as fast. The oil company have hundreds of leases they are not drilling on and most of our oil come from oil on private property, NOT government land.

What you don't get is they don't produce if the Profit incentive is not in their favor. Administrations come and go.....Why would they help a administration that is heck bent on putting them out of business by 2030?

I have no doubt that Oil companies could pump a bit more oil but it would be at a reduced profit margin. But why would they help the villain in office who is destroying America's cheap energy production on some BS dream of Green Energy and some Hippie Utopia mother earth lifestyle?

Biden is I'm sure is on Board with the Whole World Economic Forum agenda.....

That is exactly what the meat industry is doing. Tyson reported $3B in profits last year, and $1B so far this year.

The wells they cut production on were doing just fine until they decided to jack us up for more profit! How much is enough? This was well before anything happened in Ukraine. Now I don't anything about pumping for shale formations. I DO know they were doing just fine a few months ago. Did it suddenly get harder to do what they've been doing for years? They could cut my RR retirement check by 100% and it wouldn't help the price of oil and gas one bit smart guy!

Sure it would hurt to make a billion less than last year. Making as much Profit as possible is the Goal of Oil companies. People invest and rely on massive profits to acquire income. Companies need profits to reinvest in all types of infrastructure and exploration. I guess it wouldn't hurt if you made half as much as you did last year either.

It wouldn't if I made billions and my country would benefit from it. Mickey D's has shut down their operations in Russia in protest of Russia invading Ukraine but they will still pay their employees their. That's a company that is willing take a hit for the greater good.
