In 1999 Bill Clinton signed a treaty with Ukraine signed by the Democrat president on mutual legal assistance on criminal matters.

The treaty establishes a range of cooperation between the two governments about making testimony available, about making people available.

So there is a firm legal underpinning to the request made by President Trump to Ukrainian President Zelensky on the 2016 election was completely legal and appropriate.

Treaty approved by Congress gives Trump legal authority to do exactly what he did

This wasn’t a U.S. crime. You are a confused little man.
might not be,,,but the president well within the terms of the treaty asking the Ukraine government to investigate a possible crime.

And most places threatening to withhold 1.5 billion dollars unless a prosecutor is fired would be considered extortion I would think. Close enough that it’s worth Trump investigating it since it occurred in the Executive Branch.

What does a mutual aid treaty, designed to get information for US criminal investigations, have to do with demanding Ukraine carry out an internal criminal investigation?

Nothing.

Trump didn’t demand anything
THIS!!!!
ANY attempt to say he threatened or coersed anyone is just a lie or at best opinion. He did ask for help getting information about what America has been through. That does sound a lot like the Russia collusion hoax but even that is speculation.

The treaty is called

“Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters”

It is very broad and can easily be applied to what Trump said in the call
