Saw this in an article and it had merit.

How awesome would it be if Clarence Thomas were to step down from the Supreme Court so Trump could nominate another 45 year old conservative Justice who could serve on the Court for another 30+ years?

If something happened to Ginsburg (assuming she's still with us) Trump could potentially nominate and appoint 4 YOUNG Supreme Court Justices in his first term.

That would definitely screw up the neo-marxists like Cortez from taking over the country without a serious fight.

How old is he? Still seems pretty sharp with no major health issues. RBG has been sick forever but takes good care of herself. I really think about 80 they should all pack it in.

He's 70, yeah I'm not necessarily saying he should retire, but how much longer does he have? Retire now and we get another conservative Justice for 30-40 years.

I am now and have been for a long time of the belief that NO ONE in this court should have a lifetime appointment for ANY job.10 years is plenty of time for an SC appointment. Those folks in a lot case are THE most powerful people in the land above the president and congress, they should NOT be there for life. It aint like they couldn't have their pick of another job in the private sector once they've been an SC Justice. They won't go hungry.

So people dont get better as they gain experience?

Doesn't matter if they get better or not, a lifetime 'appointment' to a job of that magnitude is just sad. The people don't even have vote on them. No doubt most presidents could learn and get better over time but they are limited to 2 terms even if the voting public would like to keep them longer. You and I both know Bill Clinton could probably still be president if not for term limits.
