Rogersville 46 - Hillcrest 40 (End 3Q)

17-12 Hillcrest leads after one. Officiating at Rog isn’t great(shocker) but Hillcrest is hanging tough for now.
If they could somehow squeak out a win they would end up tied for 2nd in conference but there’s a lot of ball left to be played.

This is only the 2nd or 3rd game since about 4 weeks ago that Hillcrest has had all their guys back and been fully healthy.

40-34 Rog with 4:09 left in 3Q

It looks as if Rog got a T during the timeout? On #2

Hicks sinks both for the hornets.

40-36 Rog with 4:09 left

Romero sinks an immediate jumper off the inbound to make it 40-38 Rog.

Good game to watch.

I think Hillcrest will beat Webb. Webb lives off of their press but Hillcrest has the guard play to handle it. Webb generally can't score enough to beat good teams will just their half court offense

Now that Hillcrest is healthy and has all of their starters back, they “should” beat Webb.

Their 6’7 soph in the post has came a long way since the start of the season and that helps big time. He plays deceptively tough for being as thin as he is.

Hillcrest has 4 guards(when you include the 6th man) that can shoot from beyond the perimeter and drive to the basket.

It would have been nice to see how many wins they’d have if they didn’t have 2 starters down for as long as they did.

Hornets lead by 10 with 3:58 left in 1Q

Will be interesting to see how this game progresses.
To be fair hillcrest was only winning because Rog didn’t start their starting 5 because it was senior night. They went ahead allowed hillcrest to get a 9 point lead before they put the starters. Probably a good thing for hillcrest though because Chase Branham had 37 and might have had 47 had he played the entire game.

The starters didn’t play for like the first 1:30 of the game.
“Allowed” 🤣🤣🤣

“To be fair” Rog booed Hillcrest for holding the ball at the end of the first, and then Rog proceeded to hold the ball to end the 2nd and 3rd Qs 🤣🤣🤣

Yes and it was a 9 point deficit when the starters entered the game. Im not sure how you are disputing that? So hillcrest got spotted 9 points to start the game. They got beat 72-58. Hillcrest also scored about 6 points in the last minute of the game when the players who started the game were back in. So when Rogersville’s real team played hillcrest was losing by I believe 20 or 22 with 2 minutes left in the game after getting spotted 9 points. Then hilcrest scored roughly 6 points in the last minute of the game to make the final score look more respectable. You suggesting had Rogersville not gotten some sort of special treatment by the refs and that’s why they won is in my opinion wrong. Rogersville’s team that they would play not on senior night out scored Hilcrest by 28 or 30 points. That wasn’t caused by the refs.

The two bigs should have been fouled out in the third quarter.

The only player for them that played a dominant game was Branham(not surprised, he’s a stud)

As far as the kids that Hillcrest outscored 15-0 combined in 2 and half minutes of play, it is shocking that for such a good team, their seniors are VERY underwhelming
