It is being reported that Marcedus Leech Jr will be on the sidelines when the high school basketball season starts. Marcedus is one of the top basketball players in Missouri and appears to be on the radar screen of all major college basketball universities in the United States. Marcedus missed games last season and now missing games this season because of injuries.

Poplar Bluff will be good if Marcedus is in the line up however if Marcedus Leech is on the side lines, it could be a long season for the Mules.

I was told he had a compound fracture. If that's the case, he could be out for an extended period of time. I hope he makes a quick recovery regardless of his injury.

I heard he had surgery and a rod was placed in the bone. It has been some time since this happened so he's on the path to recovery but I have no idea how that recovery takes. Still nearly 3 months till B-ball season.

Sikeston had a kid with a similar injury back in 2013. He missed nearly the whole season and the injury happened in June. He wasn't the same. It took him a year to get back to 100%. The unfortunate part was it was his senior year and was set to have a breakout year.

Thanks, I didn't know how long it would take to get back to playing and then to back to normal.

Rocket and the Sikeston Bulldog fans will have fun this year. This will be Fred's last year of high school before enrolling @ St. Louis University. I'm guessing Sikeston will be in the Webster Jam this year. The Webster Jams will be very competitive with teams like Waynesville and Webster. The Webster-Sikeston contest will be a must for me to see and then on to the Borgia Thanksgiving Tournament.

The Sikeston kid's injury was similar to Kevin Ware (Louisville player) who broke his leg. Bone sticking out. Gruesome injury. No idea what sort of injury Leech has, but if it's similar to that then yes it will take months of recovery and will not be full strength for a year. If it's more of a stress fracture situation then he can come back full strength probably by December depending on the severity.

I don't think it's a stress fracture if he had rod put in it, but I don't know the particulars. I also heard it was compound fracture, but like I said I don't know any of this for certain.
