I'm not sure how good the other teams are, but the NMCC team that I saw play on Saturday was pretty solid. Great athleticism and quickness and they shoot it well from the outside.
Barstow is legit. Returned almost everyone from last years runner up team. Barstow will be tough to beat.
Strafford, College Prep & Barstow were 3 of the class 3 final-four last year. While College Prep most likely is considered
the underdog with their 18-11 record but 9 of those L's were from out of state teams and this is the team that knocked off
No.1 Tolton to get to Columbia. I would not overlook the Bears from Madison...
Should be some good games in the Hearnes Center Thursday afternoon...

Saw Barstow Saturday. Whew, they are really good.
I'm sure Jimerson and NMCC are very good, too. Hopefully they give Barstow a game. Their inside defense better be good, though, to limit big Horne. He understands his game much better than he did last year, when he kept confusing himself for a perimeter player at times. He is a load inside, he seems to get that now.
Madison must be pretty good, too, or they wouldn't have beaten Father Tolton.

Strafford.
Strafford is solid and can play at a slow tempo or get up and down the floor... they play a tough schedule and their only losses are to Nixa, Ozark, and Crane.
I have coached in four class 3 final 4's in the last 8 years & unless 2 or 3 of there starters get sick nobody is beating Barstow . They have deadly shooters, there point guard is very, very, very good, there inside presence is solid, they can dribble drive, there team free throw % is good, & the most important thing there defense is very solid. They will do it again next year because they start sophomores & juniors.
That being said there main "ding" is they paid good money for that team & personal. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that but there should be a class for private, Catholic, & Christian. Don't tell me those schools don't because I have seen the recruiting to those schools. Missouri punishes kids for moving between divorced parents but let's private schools take ANY kids they want. IT SHOULD BE A LEVEL PLAYING FIELD FOR ALL CLASSES.

Never seen a high school roster read like a college lineup - where they list their home towns. They come from 10 different locations to make up the one school team. But at $18,000+ a year to attend there as a high school student, why shouldn't they be listed like a college and bring kids in from all over?
