Watching the Warriors play in the playoffs I was wondering if there was another player from a small (class 1 or 2) public school that has had as successful a NBA career as Porter? Legitimate question not trying to stir up anything. I know the Rush brothers were class 2 at Pembroke Hill but public school I was trying to think of someone else. Bill Bradley I guess but he played before I was born.

Remember him with the Celtics not old enough to remember him in high school or even at Arkansas. Forgot he was from Missouri.

John Brown hailed from Dixon, MO, current population of approx 1,500. Probably considered Stewart's first real "star". Spent 7 years in the NBA and then 3 more overseas. Most impressive, he was selected for the '72 Olympic team, but never saw playing time due to an injury.

Chris Carr was from Ironton.
Norm Stewart was from Shelbyville.
Not a player but Cotton Fitzsimmons (HoF coach/contributor) was from Bowling Green.
