One number shows in graphic detail how inaccurate MO district seeding is:

To be fair, getting points for playing up makes sense in almost every situation. Central is just an outlier
How about we just use a sagarin type model that balances out as the year goes on?

Otherwise, why wouldn't a KC area team just play all IL schools for out of conference games? Voila, 1 seed in districts.

Why don't we just use our common sense and let the coaches vote on the seedings and then use the head to head to move up a spot as well? Pretty simple. I know coaches try to buddy up and get seeds manipulated, but usually fall into place just right in the end because everyone can see who voted for who!

Do something like the old points system did take into account the opponents record. If the team you are playing up is 0-9 you should get no points clearly they are no good.

How'd you like to be Lamar right now? Stockton will likely host their district.

I definitely get what you're saying. I'm not exactly sure what all is taken into the current system and what isn't so I can't argue much more about the specifics lol

The computer system they currently used does switch two teams if they are right next to each other in seeding and the lower team beat the higher team head to head

I do not think they switch them, but lower seed has the option to bump up if they choose. Say you are the 6th seed and beat the 5th seed. They may not want to bump up and play the 1 seed in the semi finals.

I think Lamar’s win last week helped them?

Should playing Central give the same points as playing Ritter?

Classification has zero to do with quality of opponent and shouldn't factor into seeding.
That is just not even close to true. Does it have everything to do with quality? No. But it definitely matters. The number of quality athletes you are capable of having is directly related to class size for public schools. It's literally just statistics. Now is that always the way it works, definitely not because you have schools like BO that obviously have more athletes than they should for the size of the school. Where it really matters is depth of athletes. class 1 if you have a starter go down, your backup is probably garbage and has no business playing football. In class 5 if you have a starter go down, the backup might not be as good but the fall off won't be as high

Bad teams are bad teams regardless of class. If you take away the classification bump and use a 'sagarin' type rating you will get a much more accurate picture.

What difference does it make??? The district winner is determined on the field.

I would put the teams in a hat and draw for bracket positions and hosting and just play the games

No I have never figured out why the better team in a tournament gets an automatic advantage????? Seems to me like the worst team should get one if anyone does.

If you could comprehend English you would understand I never have said he wasn’t impressive,,,I said he was not Amazing.

Use a dictionary and look up the definition of those two adjectives
