Jasper has an important election in April to raise the levy to allow the school to keep most faculty and pay them the new state minimums. If it fails, several will be let go, and the remaining will have enlarged classes. The farmers there have never voted for increases in the past, but I wonder what they'll think if or once they have to pay into Carthage or Lamar or Webb or whoever swallows their portion of the district.
