How to make MSHSAA football Classes be competitive again!!!

Mississippi is in year 2 of expanding to 7 classes. Privates are separate. 5A is where you see the depth drop off. It's even more stark than Class 4 here. Keep in mind we're talking about 28-30 per class. Awful decision.
Yep awful decision but for Missouri it might work out. Class 6 & 7 would be private classes one with 16 and the other with 17. Then for public split evenly. 3 Classes would have 54 Schools and 2 Classes would have 55.

Do you have a list of who would be in the two private classes with their enrollments.

Anyone ever do the math/research to separate the private schools into a large and small class to see what that would look like?

Should I keep the Championship factor for two private classes or based it on enrollments? Btw is Miller Career Academy and University Academy public or private???

Did you just volunteer!?
I absolutely would but I can't find a list of all the Missouri private schools with football and I don't know all of them well enough to just do it by the name of the school. So if anyone has that, I will do the rest!

If the ultimate goal of your program is to win at the highest stage possible put a championship factor for both public and private. Make public a 2 year recycle on points and make privates on a 4 to 6 year. No limit on how many classes you jump. That way you get privates playing the competition they should be playing. Add a class 7 which is the catch all for the top dogs.

Try having a kid that works concrete all summer (start work at dawn) then heads to the weight room to get that voodoo.
I can respect those that work concrete. Its a good, hard working blue collar job. Now next summer, get the kid to work in the STEEL MILL all summer. THAT will REALLY get him some of that voodoo

He got a good union millwright gig.

Don't want him consorting with booster club presidents from that wretched hive of scum and villainy known as Ampipe.

Excuse me?? Are you familiar with unions in the STEEL INDUSTRY!? Apparently NOT, because you would know how good of a job they provide!!! Also, Ampipe is a community filled with good, hard working, blue collar folks. People that make the back bone of America? Do you have something against those folks? You got something against America!? NICE TRY!

How bout instead of Privates being separated by size of school, they will have one class for competitive (recruiters) and one for recreational (ones that dont)

I was afraid it would work out with Cardinal Ritter in the small school class....kinda makes there be zero chance of it actually happening...

Fix the St. Louis public schools, that's the problem.
Agreed. I saw it accelerate when Lamar started winning multiple class 2 championships. The St. Louis class 2 schools (Trinity, Ritter, Lutheran North) suddenly started getting athletes that now (except for Trinity who did away with FB) compete in classes 4,5 & 6. Pius X in KC seems to be following suit. This is what caused MSHSAA to change the private bump.
With that said, I follow 4 other state's HS sports and I like MSHSAA's policies and procedures over any of the other state's association, by far.

As someone who has despised Borgia for many years...I fully support this.

Looks good.

I know but I wish. It’s time for the private to move on. Already can tell 4 of 6 classes will probably be won by a Private School this year
Its' funny the ones that tell publics to work harder were crying when the StL privates beat their tails all over the field.

But that's different.

They don't believe in fair play only money buys championships
Definitely agree. Private record against Public schools is 79- 34 after 8 weeks. They’re is about 4 to 5 privates will probably beat Public schools tonight.

If you look at 15 of the 34 Loses to public schools, 6 is from Springfield Catholic and only private school in the area. 5 to the first year Vertias Christian , and 4 to Principia who’s not in a private school conference.

They just 'work harder'.

(Which means it won't happen)
It won’t happen, because private schools get their way.
