I think Nixa is a candidate. Nice community near Springfield and Branson/Table Rock, a boatload of talent and potential. But without the history and impossible expectations you may run into a places like Webb City or some of the places above. Or the politics of JC. District probably can afford to pay pretty well too.

Any smallish town with a biggish school. It seems like it would be easier to create continuity in the program down to the youth organizations.

Has to be Festus...with what they pay, Covid free area, very nice facilities and community support.

For smaller schools, Lawson has a lot to like. I always felt it would be a good place to be.

Best coaching job is in an orphanage of mute kids
Larry Bunn

In all seriousness, I'm not sure you could pay me enough to live in either the STL or KC metro area. That knocks out the options listed.
***EDIT*** This really is a pretty good movie...and it really is based on a true story about an orphanage team playing HS football in Texas....check out the MOVIE TRAILER...it's worth a look!

For KC I'd say Fort Osage or Odessa
Families stay in the area for generations. Great facilities and tradition. Packed on Friday nights always and the fans travel better than anyone else.

Blue Springs is not the same Blue Springs. They can't recruit anymore and neither can Rockhurst. Not the great gigs they were a decade ago. Too much stress from fan base not understanding that.

When it comes to Blair Oaks you have some crazy good factors for any coach that would come in:

Youth program that competes with big schools out of both Mid Missouri and St. Louis to include CBC as opponents which teaches these students and players very early (starting at 4th Grade)

Some of the best facilities in the state. They even just upgraded their scoreboard this year to a full video board and the ability to have refs call fouls over the loud speakers on the fly and do replays on the video board.

A community support that is second to none that not only shows up in support at home but travels very very well.

A winning mentality not only in football but across all sports. This fall you have football, softball, and volleyball all doing very very well and have been for many years.

A growing school district where new subdivisions are being built constantly and the market in this area has been red hot to where if you can put "Blair Oaks Schools" on the house when it hits the market it drives the price up big time as well it sells super fast as the school district is sought after by most home buyers in the Jefferson City area.

Any coach that would come into this would have to feel at ease knowing they already got a well developed program already in place making their job a lot easier.

I think you have to put what are the expectations as a big consideration. Places like Jeff City, Webb City, Blair Oaks, Camdenton, etc. are great jobs but if you don't win a state championship you are considered a failure.

Camdenton hasn't won a state title since 05. They've won three or four district titles in the last dozen or so years. I don't think the majority of people would call Bob or Jeff Shore failures. That said, there are crazies in every sect and they've got platforms now. Now, Camdenton has their own issues outside of football that make it toxic right now. But I don't see expectations there as unrealistic.

Man I wouldn't touch Webb City with a 10' pole. There is nowhere to go but down following Roderique's tenure.

I wouldn't say no one gets fired in Springfield for not winning. They do. They just get moved to middle school.

Yeah they have issues! I’m on season three of Ozark. Wow!

Smaller schools I would choose Maryville or Lamar. Communities are invested and lots of talent! I'm sure I am missing some others
Bigger schools, I think Nixa has a hell of a coach there now, I think that is a great place to coach.
Branson, IMO could be a sleeping giant.

When I was in High School I thought I wanted to be a hs football coach and if you'd asked me then, my dream job would've been Branson. If you have the ability, a winner in Branson could really be lucrative.

I don't think you can beat that stadium set up.

Yeah I think Branson would be a nice gig. I've know quite a few people who have lived there and they liked it a lot, just can be difficult to find affordable housing and traffic are really the only complaints although traffic isn't nearly as bad as it used to be when there was no good way to get through town other than 76.

The district is well funded and their facilities are great. Their football stadium is easily my favorite of al the ones I've been to and every time I've been they have nice crowds even though I've never seen them win a game. I've watched both Webb City and Carthage play there many times. Had some Branson students say "hey good game Carthage!" to me on the way out of the stadium after we had rolled them a few years ago, made an impression on me regarding the sportsmanship and class there.

I’m guessing you went to high school back in the mid 90s then? When Kneeshaw was dominating in the backfield for Branson.
Good ole Coach Hancock

The problem with Branson is it is very transient. It is very hard to build anything because kids are always coming and going.
