CJ still a top 10 team at 0-2??????? I’m sure St. Joe Lafayette and Grain Valley are a little stronger at this point........
Here's the logic stream I don't get. Valle loses by one to their crosstown rival and drops 5 spots. Said rival still isn't in the top ten in a class where Trinty doesn't have a win yet and still leads in first place votes. Oh, and the former #1 team in that class dropped 5 spots after losing to highly regarded Blair Oaks.

Kearney drops 3 spots after losing to the #1 and defending state champ in class 5...and playing a pretty good game they were expected to lose.

I am a CJ grad and I don't see how they are ranked.
Losses are to the #1 team in class 4 and the #6 team in Class 5. Pollsters are still showing them a little love after several solid seasons in a row.

On the flip side, those were two lopsided losses and the Bulldogs D and O were both exposed. They certainly haven't proven to anyone that they are truly a top 10 team this year.

They still end up with a good record and only 3 or 4 losses and probably top 10 in the state. IF they take care of biz the rest of the way.

Perhaps, Blair Oaks couldn't carry ESL and Colquitt's JOCK?;)

MVL should be ranked. IMO.
Fair Grove is undefeated, and has a win over Mountain Grove. I'd put them in right now over Mountain View-Liberty.

Unfortunately, this is the worst team that mountain grove has had in probably 18-20 years. Or in comparison to the competition they play at least.

They’re wayyyy down. For this year at least.

Scratch Fair Grove off the possible Class 2 sleeper list.
Yes, agree that Mountain Grove isn't much of a strength barometer this year. Nevertheless, Fair Grove has a nice solid little team but Class 2 is ABSOLUTELY LOADED with good teams this year.

Lexington, Lawson, and Lathrop, with how they’re all looking this year will be a fun district to watch come Week 10.

I’ll wait at least another week before I reveal who I believe the sleeper or surprise team in Class 2 is. Maybe.

Macon as well, Brookfield is also capable of an upset

Blair Oaks is a far better team than Trinty, not that it matters. I hope you stay on here all season so you can find out like the rest of us have that Trinty is NOT for real.

Blair Oaks is not a far better team than Trinity. You're living in a pipe dream.

That Ava loss to Buffalo is horrendous. I think for the first time in a long time the biggest threats to Lamar in C2 come from the north not the south. If MV-Liberty would've beat Bolivar I could've went all in on em, but alas that wasn't the case. More often than not I would never say a Lawson, Lexington, or Lathrop level team could win the SCA but this year I would give it some thought. I think Ava and MV-Liberty are still really good and could beat nearly anyone in C2 outside of maybe just Lamar and Lutheran North, but Ava is not nearly as good in the trenches as they were last year and Liberty doesn't quite have that homerun threat they usually always have.

The important word is team.
Wait, in the Trinity/East St. Louis thread, you basically said Trinity may be for real after going to 3ot at East Stl and how you were impressed, but now you're saying they're not for real? What happened between Saturday night and today to make you change your mind?

I had been drinking.

But seriously, I still am impressed with that performance. They could make it to 6 wins before their final week trip to Ohio. I just can't see them winning it all, but that class really seems to be up for grabs. Who knows?

Except when Salem was in its prime, Top KCI schools could compete in the SCA.

I've read your posts, so I know it's the coaching that has you hesitant when it comes the Trinity, but I can tell you the new coach is more of a no nonsense guy than Patterson ever was. The performance amd behavior at Colquitt was unacceptable and what was seen was a much better and more disciplined team at East St. Louis. I don't think there is a team in 3a that comes close to the talent they have played thus far, nor do I think there is a team in the class as talented. The question is if they can remain disciplined and play good football. Talent alone never wins championships.

You gotta name them now, you can’t wait a week or two.....anyone can wait til after week 4 and pick a team that’s doing good.....

They could definitely compete but they couldn't win it. This year one of those teams probably could but not at any other time in the last 6 years at least.

That's just my opinion anyway, I usually watch about as many KCI games live each year as I do the SCA.

Cards1968 was being sarcastic before. He will be the first poster on here (now that NWalls must've moved to Ferguson) to tell you indeed, Trinty is for real!

It’s a team that’s doing alright thus far. They’re not in the ozarks though. That much I can tell you.

Missouri needs to do it like Texas, Have a coaches poll.

http://www.theathleticsdepartment.com/football/poll/coaches/

People on here. Even people I disagree with a lot, are far more in tune with how teams are looking than coaches who don't have time to look all these teams they arent playing.

I do have a problem with how Maxpreps is so enamored by player rankings and stars at the start of a season (like Trinity) who obviously as a team cant jump from being ranked #54 in Missouri last year to #2 at the start of the season because of some subjective star ratings on 5-7 of theur players. It is folly. That being said Calpreps/Maxpreps' system does get more predictive after week 5-6, and it can give you a rough idea of how well a team should do.
