William Chrisman has 3 wins over teams that are a combined 0-9 and who are averaging about 4 points a game. Raytown should easily be ahead of Chrisman (and so should about 12-15 other teams).

Parkway North, Parkway Central, Smithville, PC, and Hannibal should all be ranked higher than Kearney. (sarcasm intended)

In Class 3, it's obvious the STL and KC homers voted it up for their subscriber base. Their Week 3 rankings are horrible.

Taking SoS and other key points into consideration, I personally like for Week 3...

1. Chillicothe
2. Mt. Vernon
3. Blair Oaks
4. Maryville
5. Odessa
6. Cassville
7. Seneca
8. St. Pius X KC
9. Monett
10.Springfield Catholic
Knocking on the door…Osage, Miller Career Academy, McCluer South-Berkeley

Monett and SC have me scratching my head: SC only 20-7 over Marshfield??? And Monett only leading LR 7-0 well into the 3rd quarter???

Calpreps / Maxpreps have the most accurate rankings hands down. The media rankings are insanely biased and extremely inaccurate.

Calpreps/Maxpreps for Class 3, Week 3:
1. Chillicothe
2. McCluer South-Berkeley
3. Mt. Vernon
4. Maryville
5. Central Park Hills
6. Blair Oaks
7. Odessa
8. Cassville
9. Monett
10.Seneca
11.Center KC
12.Pleasant Hill

My prediction that West Plains would have to be at least 3-0, probably 4-0 to get ranked should come true IF they win this Friday.

I know this is the way most poll have it... But you have to wonder if Cassville isnt getting downgraded too much for their first game. I saw Mt Vernon and Cassville in back to back weeks and honestly thought Cassville was the better team... Not saying they will win when they meet, Tom Cox's boys can play, just from the eyetest based on what I saw... I did pick them second and third in the Big 8.

Would you still think that if Kearney beats Smithville 35-7, which they would? And after Kearney beats Platte County by 21?

I watched PC play Friday against Staley.

If Kearney goes into the 3rd with only 7 pts. like they did in the Grandview game then they'll be down by 35. Not scoring high and often will not be an option.

Staley simply wore PC down in the 3rd with their multiple option offense and O-line.

Kearney is yet to prove they can stay with a team that can score on any play from any portion of the field.

Not being a Debbie downer but a realist.

And still Penney gets no respect!! Wow!! That's ok... We are only going into week 4. Obviously the people that do these polls were not at the game Friday... No big deal. Lose by 1 to a higher class team, with triple the players, triple the penalties last week against us, and Penney drops from #1 to #4. Wow!! Ok... No worries...Penney is used to playing with the cards stacked against them anyway. Guess we will see where things stand at the end of the season. Just remember I called it last year....and look what happened. SMH!!

Correct. Chrisman appears to be pulling away late in these games, too. Versus what is coming up their offense better get it in gear..........

You act like they dropped out of the poll. Calm down, mom.

Marceline played up and beat Class 2 Brookfield in the Bell Game.
Valle Catholic played up and beat Class 2 Caruthersville who was receiving ranking votes.
Monroe City handily beat a South Shelby team that was receiving class 1 votes.

I'd say #4 is a fair spot considering Hayti is grossly underrated. I think everyone knows the Hamilton Harpers will still be around in November, so just grab a glass of wine and relax Mom.

Should be the game of the week in the OC. Intriguing matchup. Hillcrest will struggle with size of WP up front. WP will struggle with Hillcrest speed. WP might be the better team by just a bit, but the game is @Hillcrest. Just a lot of things line up to make it interesting. Now that I've said that, it'll probably be a four touchdown game.

Kearney's offensive stats are dismal. Or should I say abysmal?

vs. Fort 277 yards total
vs. RS 249 yards total
vs. Grandview 218 yard total
QBs:
Kutch 20/41 160 total yards 1 TD 4 Ints 27.5 QB Rating
Potts 9/26 112 total yards 1 TD 1 int 45.7 QB rating
Ah-mu 4/11 78 yards 1 TD 0 Int 92.2

I think it's going to come down to how much Hillcrest tries to throw the ball on West Plains. Most years I would say that WP run defense is their strength, but I truly believe that this year, it's their pass defense. Don't get me wrong, their run D is strong, but I think it may not be as strong as the last couple of years, but their defensive backfield might be playing better than I've seen in quite awhile. If Hillcrest can establish the run game, this will be a battle, if they can't and are forced to throw, I say the Zizzers win this one by 3-4 TDs.
I'm not saying that Hillcrest isn't going to have a few long breakaway TDs in the passing game and running game both, because that's definitely possible, I just don't know if they will be consistent enough defensively to keep the West Plains offense out of the end zone. I'm thinking 42-24 West Plains.

Should be Penney and Hayti in the finals this yr, IMO

Lol...wine is so not my drink of choice....Yes, Harper and his younger brother will still be around in November, along with "The Wall" the Trosper duo, Pulley, Black, Brown, Brown, Dixon, Whitt, etc. I don't need to go on. Yes...I am a HORNET FAM1LY fan!! Have been for a while and will be...but as I've said they have not gotten their just due. Have always had a target, have seen it for years....so with that being said. I will sit back, enjoy my drink of choice and watch my team climb back up the chart as I know they will. Because they have always played against the odds. Anyone that's played against them knows, they are tougher than they appear. And anyone that truly watches these teams throughout Missouri and has done their research knows the Penney has an extremely tough Team. With that being said.....cheers!

You act like they dropped out of the poll. Calm down, mom.
Not that they have dropped out, just give them their just. They have a tough TEAM... And yes I'm gonna support them just as I have every year. Just like the Valle supporters support their boys, Webb supports their boys, so on so on....I support mine.... Its all in good fun week to week.
