Maryville/Monett for all the marbles

Monett just shut out a team averaging over 46 points a game. Don't see a turbo coming.

He seemed like a good kid in high school. Then went to Ohio State and turned into a total dueshe bag. He may get suspended from nfl this year for beating his girlfriend.
Totally agree that he's a d-bag, but I do still hope all the domestic stuff ends up being false accusations :(

I thought it was all over and done with until I read your post and looked it up only to find that the Columbus City Attorney just this month had reopened the investigation based on past accounts (which in turn caused the NFL to say that their case is still open as well...)

The Barry Sanders-type NFL player is gone forever it seems :(:(:(

Maryville beats Monett by 28+

Maryville would beat Lamar by 21 for two reasons.... 1. Depth 2. Passing game. But, it actually wouldn't be an even 21 because of all that crap they do going for two.

Honest question. How many class 1, class 2, class 3 or higher teams were on Maryville's schedule?

Class 2 - Lawson (noncon) , St. Joe LeBlond
Class 3 - St. Pius X (noncon) , Chillicothe, Cameron
Class 4 - St. Joe Benton, St. Joe Lafayette, Savannah, Smithville,

Ya, Lamar has no depth ;)
They have great depth for a class 2 school. But they aren't as deep as Maryville.

Also, a side note, I would like Maryville to play 9 class 1 schools and lose all of them. But I also understand how good they are. This year is a different year for them though in my opinion. They have always been phenomenal up front, and had good skill kids. This year, they are only great up front, but pair it with great skill kids at every position, and are 3 deep at almost every one.

Thanks. Both teams have played tough schedules. Just don't see where the turbo talk is coming from.

Some people like to talk smack and probably only to inflame the conversation. As most fans of certain teams would not talk that way to start with. Most of their talk takes place on the field. Even though Maryville has turbo clocked 10 of the 14 games played this year, that is not their main goal. Their goal is to play hard each and every down, play with good sportsmanship, and play the game the right way and the score will take care of itself. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Lamar and it's program and was there in 2009 and regardless of our records that day, the game was a real battle that could have gone either way.

I'm talking about Monett not Lamar. No respect for a team out of the tough big 8, in the semifinals 3 out of the last 5 years, only loss this year to a reigning 5 year state champ?

Maryville has beat some Saint Joe teams. Wow!

Cassville, who Monett beat 21-20, finished 3rd in the Big 8. Cassville is ranked #54 in Missouri, only a few spots ahead of #57 St. Joseph Lafayette who Maryville beat 52-20. Maryville also beat #38 Chillicothe 61-14 and #55 Smithville 39-0.

So, please tell me again how much better the Big 8 is for Monett. Losing to Lamar really isn't an accomplishment.

Lamar? I thought we already determined Maryville would TURBO Lamar. Maryville probably wins Class 4 this year also.

Where are these rankings coming from? My guess is something like Maxpreps which is complete nonsense. Both teams have played tough schedules and hopefully it will be a great game, but using some useless rankings from a useless website only hurts your argument not help it.

Are you suggesting that Lamar (National Ranking of 477) would not beat Blue Springs South (National Ranking of 1382)... I mean they are ranked 905 spots higher

You must have missed the memo. Lamar would turbo everyone in Class 6.

Stamp It!

Yes everyone missed that memo as no one said that. The memo that did go out is Maryville and Lamar would be blown out by no less than a dozen teams in KC. That is simply not true.

Can't speak on Lamar but I do think Maryville would be competitive in Class 4. I think they would be a top 5 team. I don't think they'd beat Kearney though. I do think they could beat Harrisonville. As far as them beating some class 5 and 6 schools I do think they could but not any of the good teams. Not enough depth.

Well anybody could beat "some" class 5/6 teams. Bad teams are bad regardless of class, Oak Park was a bad class 5 school, probably finishes .500 in a normal class 3 schedule... There isn't many bad class 6 schools in KC, if any...
