Looks Like The tournament is shapping up with a few twist!

Last night the 8 seeded North County Raiders upset the Potosi Trojans in the quarter final action! North County will meet up with Arcadia Valley who squeaked by West County 57-55! Tonight Quarterfinal action is #2 Cenral playing #7 Valle Catholic @ 7 and #3 Farmington playing #6 Farmington @ 8:30! Should be a good night of basketball!

any inside information of the Potosi/NC Game would be great! im going off scores reported by local radio stations!

Not too unusual for an 8 seed to knock off a 1 seed but it's usually a nail biter when it happens, not a 20 point win. That's little hard to figure out.

NC played box and 1. They guarded Potosi's best outside threat and didn't allow him any open looks. Then they collapsed on the Coleman kid with 3 and sometimes 4 defenders and held him to 21 with 0 in the 4th quarter and no other Potosi player could throw it in the ocean. The NC bigs did a nice job of getting in the way but not fouling. Coleman was averaging around 35 and 18. He still managed 18 boards but 21 points wasn't enough to carry his team.

Also, NC shot it pretty well. Freshman Hayden Sprenkel hit 6 threes and ended with 24 points. Potosi didn't do a good job of staying in his face and he got a lot of open shots. Potosi actually didn't play much D all night really. NC got a lot of easy chances and they made them

Potosi jumped out to an 11 point lead early but it went down hill starting in the 2nd quarter. They pretty much gave up in the 4th and the score ballooned. It was probably their worst effort of the year.

Not a chance. LOL

How good is PHC? We were looking at the Class 3 bracket the other day and getting giddy about the possible matchups. They good enough to get out of the quarter? Or just kinda MAAA good? The points they're putting up make me think they're pretty good. But the two games they went south didn't go so well. Can they give NMCC/Maplewood a run?

I don't think so. MAAA good in my opinion. I don't think they'll handle the pressure those teams bring well enough. I'd expect them to win their district but I don't think they'll be the favorite after that.

But no one expected Farmington to play in Columbia last year either so one never knows.
