Liberty Rumor mill- Jones leaving Kearney

Jones won't be as successful at North as he has been in Kearney and some of his other stops. Doesn't need to be though. Money talks

A guy they call Booster Bosco has low rent housing available in Liberty...for all Kearney football players.

True BULLDOGS won't run to the next town! They will stay and fight! Going to be some bloody feathers the Friday night in Kearney when the eagles roll into town!

Yes both Sean and Yale are uncles with that name pedigree alone the kid is the real deal all the VanDyne boys were multiple sport greats at Kearney.
Yale Van Dyne in 1986 was the first big, big star Kearney had and that was the school's first ever playoff game (still get chills remembering how cold that was). He was truly a man among boys..............

Jones will be successful. He is one of the elite coaches in the area and can turn a good program into a great one. He will be blessed with numbers and if a kid won't commit to his liking he will get rid of them.

Jones will be successful if he gets a good staff under him. He had one of the best staffs a person could ask for the last few seasons at Kearney. If some key members of his staff follow, watch out. If not, he will have a much steeper hill to climb.

It will be a huge jump when they move to Class 6...here is a preview of what to expect based on this year: 0 Wins 8 Losses

[2016] Blue Springs (MO) 38, [2016] Liberty North (Liberty, MO) 6
[2016] Blue Springs S (Blue Springs, MO) 28, [2016] Liberty North 12
[2016] Lee's Summit (MO) 38, [2016] Liberty North (Liberty, MO) 14
[2016] Lee's Summit West (Lee's Summit, MO) 34, [2016] Liberty North (Liberty, MO) 6
[2016] Lee's Summit North (Lee's Summit, MO) 22, [2016] Liberty North (Liberty, MO) 21
[2016] Park Hill (Kansas City, MO) 31, [2016] Liberty North (Liberty, MO) 7
[2016] Raymore-Peculiar (Peculiar, MO) 31, [2016] Liberty North (Liberty, MO) 7
[2016] Rockhurst (Kansas City, MO) 35, [2016] Liberty North (Liberty, MO) 0

Jones got some work to do...wow.

They don't buy football in liberty like some of Jones other stops. Add that to a probable class 6 move and he will have a tough job. His ability to coach is not in question. Ovbiously the resume is there.

Nobody has a better feel for Kearney than him. Maybe he is looking down the road and thinks the talent may slip a little and he will have a better chance at LN. Kearney got a move in at QB that put them over the hump, without him this year they are good, but probably don't make it past Platte or Hannibal.

Little to do with Kearney, and more about boosting retirement income by 25-30% for life...IMO. LN will be road kill in Class 6 for a few years...and its coming in the next cycle.

That post right there explains your football IQ! One thing Jones will teach you if your smart enough to keep your mouths shut and your ears open is the fact that Football is a TEAM game! Football games are not won by one person or one play! Your sons will explain it to you in a few weeks! I know that there are over 30 seniors at Kearney that have been coached by the very best staff top to bottom and you can bet that they aren't just going to roll over just because of a bump in the road! Sure most of them are very upset right now but that hurt will turn into aggression and look out because Kearney never has a bunch of 5 star talented kids but what Kearney had before Jones and they will have after Jones is a bunch of small town hard nosed kids that will flat out punch you in the mouth.

So your saying that without the move in QB, Kearney would have beat PC twice, and won all the close play off games? From someone who knows football, and doesn't have to wait on Greg Jones to fart so I can breathe, I will tell you that Kearney loses in the district championship.

Frankly, the QB play was pretty lackluster in the District Championship game against PC...on the Kearney side. He tossed a couple TDs to a WIDE OPEN Jess Davis... The backup played in 7 games and had a QB rating over 100. Do they go to State with the backup as starter? Maybe not. But if Pritzel isn't there, how much better is the backup by the end of the season? But let's not pretend Pritzel carried them. It just wasn't the case. The combo with Jess Davis was good...but the backup was capable of many of those TDs as well. PC lost because they got their asses kicked in all phases of the game in the first half. You must not have watched the game.

I believe that they won 9 other district championships without a move in QB. Like I said before it is a team sport! Next man up!

I am pretty sure there were a few guys blocking for that move in QB as well. And when the move in was on the sideline I am pretty certain there were 11 guys on the field playing defense.

I heard Jones was going to be Assistant AD at LN, surprised Kearney didn't offer the same thing for him to stay.

I do imagine this whole situation does not sit well with the average Kearney Dawgs fan...but upon reflection, and understanding the significant pay increase and impact this wiill have for the coach, and his family, they realize it was the right thing for him to do.

Haters gonna hate..............

Josh Gray was just announced as the new Kearney Football Coach.
THIS is great news. I frankly thought he'd go with Jones and K would probably have to go outside the program to find a new HC. Now let's see who the O coordinator becomes............
