I hope they can't offer him that much because that means he won't be leaving! I seriously don't think they have a chance in getting him unless they break the bank! He has an entire town in the palm of his hands! He is not only good at winning games, The guy can magically make 100 kids from all different backgrounds believe in each other and be willing to give everything they have to one cause better than any person I have ever seen! And those spoiled little rich kids don't deserve that! They need to "Earn That Right" and not expect Mommy and Daddy to run up the road and buy it for them!
Wonder how much the Harrisonville coach makes.....maybe he could throw his name in the hat and make a few extra bucks...just sayin
I am right here! Stef, I have defended and stuck up for you on here for a long time. I am not a joke, bully, fatty, and am definitely NOT a buffoon! At least I dont commit costly penalties and lose the biggest game of the year!
Now about the booster club paying a coach...he better be worth it! The Ampipe booster club wanted to pay Coach Nickerson when there were rumors of him interviewing for the Cal Poly job. I suggested we wait until we finish the season and see how the biggest game of the year went. We all know what happened then.

They were already inside the 10 yard line Bosko... and we still held them on downs to not score... so please explain how in the world my PI call did anything to hurt us.

The latest gossip is that Coach Jones is going to make Liberty North wait...maybe for the next couple of weeks, at which point they will have no choices left to hire. Then he will pull the rug out and reject them. LN will then be forced to hire the Liberty youth football coaches that could never beat Fort Osage in the Pop Warner league, so they moved another league in Johnson County where they would do better. The new coaches' strategy coming in will be to try to get LN into a different conference where they don't lose as many regular season games.
Tophat is unavailable for comment, but he did send out a press release regarding this issue:
"As for respect,believe me, among the coaching fraternity (where it really matters) Coach Jones get TONS of respect. Among the folks here honestly, he could win 10 titles in a row some would still find fault with him. Yours truly is very busy with other pursuits but coming back here in a not too small part to defend Coach Jones when I feel it is warranted (not really anyone else on here anymore to do it). As for Liberty North, they are a fine program, and a fine town. No, they don't seem to have a "football culture there," but they are great opponents and good people. Kearney loves the challenge of playing them. And should Coach Jones accept the position, Kearney will still love playing them. Regards, The Top."

Bad news out of Kearney Town.. This wont be a good post.. Jones is as gone as a ghost on Christmas. The money and retirement boost is too much.. If K could give the guy a decent office and not make him teach at all they could have kept the legend. I spent all night crying in my Wheaties and o'douls. say goodbye to all the catchy slogans and weird stuff
I still have to hear it out of the horses mouth before I believe it! My gut tells me he won't leave! Plus LN AD can offer him the moon and the sun but until the school board approves it it's not a done deal! I have a hard time believing they will "stamp it"

Let's see...Bluejays have gone to how many state finals? Been ranked top 8? Oh... yeah, don't think so.
Just heard from the horses mouth.. deal hinged on a slick LSU cell phone and a brand new ship to burn.. GOT BOTH...Still debating.. hope is there...nothing deal is worth 152k and expense account..no classes to teach.. bring all but one staff member.
Odds are Jones is not going from what I hear. LN already has their back up plan ready if Jones turns it down.
I am not saying he isn't worth twice as much but don't you think every Bluejay parent will be at the district office with a news crew asking "Why does North get a brand new school and the highest paid (and best) coach in the Midwest and we get Free-Gone and three or four social studies teachers that played high school ball"
It will definitely start a civil war!
Heard the Back up plan was Gray from Kearney.. and if he won't, Leullen from Kearney. And if he won't, well, you get the idea...
I just heard that all the Kearney coaches are kicking in to bump Jones money up..ALL stipends are being utilize to keep Greg around, because all programs use his expertise in weight training for their athletes. each stipend wil be reduced by 1000 to help keep coach around. Some programs will have their coaches gladly work for free to keep this gem.... Know it all out
