one thing i know is that the community, town, admin, students, teachers everyone will do what it takes to keep Jones
Can they play those negotiating games at the HS level? Don't districts have salary schedules to pay teachers and coaches their respective years? Or is it under the table???
They can find ways. Sometimes giving them an "administrative duty" can allow for extra salary money to be thrown their way. There is always the booster club which is completely separate from the district itself.

Or did it to Kearney, If a kid said hey I'm out if I don't get A or B, then the coach would say you are a terrible teammate have not loyalty.......

A kid isn't making a living from the school district. This is about more than just towny loyalty.

He most likely has committed to retiring at Kearney because any administrator in their right mind would not even take his calls for a potential opening after these fun and game. Great for Kearney if they do get to keep their coach

Finally, Greg Jones came along to prove a coach can win in Kearney. Don't know what they would have done, waiting so long for a winner like they did.
In my eyes he hasn't fooled anyone! I don't think he even applied for the job! When you are as good as he is you don't apply for jobs they come after you! I can imagine that the LN AD came after him without even notifying the KMO administration that they were going to try and pilfer from.

He and his staff take normal small town hard nosed kids and teach them that hard work and character will take you a long way in this world! They aren't a coaching staff that just makes the kids work their tails off and then jump in their trucks and go home! Of course they demand the kids to put in the work but after those boys go home at the end of a hard day ALL of those coaches stay there and out work and out prepare every team they battle! That is the difference and those boys know and "Trust" the detailed information that those coaches teach them how to be successful on Friday night! There are a lot of great football coaches out there and then there are a lot of hard working football coaches out there! If you want to have a program like the one that Jones has built you better find a guy that not only knows the X's and O's and willing to work crazy stupid hours to make sure his team is performing to their absolute full potential!
And to make sure that every kid in all three phases of the game is doing everything perfect you have to know it yourself first!!

Gossip I heard was Coach Jones was offered the Liberty North job and that Kearney is trying to match. Numbers I heard were 110-120k.
The way they do retirement funding, if they offered him $20K a more..for three years...he'd be kind of dumb not to take it, since retirement

It's going to be a while before Kearney goes back up to Class 5. Next August when they do the counting, they will be about 1200, two your later, it will be less than that.
Not if they change the catch-all. If they make it Class 1...then Kearney will be at the bottom quartile of Class 5. A little birdie told me that was a real big time possibility for the next cycle...but what do i know?

That will not fly in the current political climate in Missouri. With budget cuts coming, unless he gets put in as an administrator/coach he will be hard pressed to make over 100K. The people surrounding the Football program may be good with it, but it only takes one person to be unhappy and every news outlet in the city will jump on it, and we all know the school boards and administrators don't have the will power to withstand such pressure.

Is he coveted yes, would his name be thrown around if per say the Blue Springs job came open, maybe a little, but not to this extent. Because he was almost out the door once before to Liberty, it is easy to jump to that conclusion.
