I'm not huge on comparing scores versus common opponents, but in this case it was over 40 points so it's fair. Many things can play into that, I believe Lamar played Valle early in the season & teams typically improve over the season. Also, I suspect Valle could've easily been intimidated in that matchup & possibly laid down after being jumped all over versus being hyped to play for a state championship. Yes, that was a great pass breakup & #11 was a fun player to watch!
#11 from Monroe City and #45 from Staley pound for pound were the best players I watched last year. Getting to watch Monroe City/Valle and Staley/Pattonville all in one day in Como was a great time.
And I guess I misremembered that it was Valle who almost got that corner pass to nearly beat Monroe City instead of Monroe catching it to win.

I don't disagree. I would argue that the winner of D6 will give BO a game for about a half but that's it. I also believe that Macon will be a very tough test for Lathrop, but they should pull it out in the end. If somehow Macon can hold Lathrop to under 30 points it's a toss-up game IMO. Even so, asking this Macon team to beat both Lathrop and Lawson in successive weeks on the road is too much.

Or are you defending yourself against the reply I made on someone else’s post where I said ratings don’t matter and the best team will be decided on the field? If I was a Lamartian, I'd root for anybody but Ava in D3 and Lathrop. Only scenario to host the semi is to go on the road in the quarter and have Lathrop be the opponent in the semi. The hosted less rule would give home field to Lamar. If it's Ava, Lamar hosts and bottom half tiebreak would go to Lathrop, and if anyone other than Lathrop it would be less/= host with bottom half tiebreak in pocket.
Lamar will be ready for whatever the bracket brings them. If it's Ava, Fair Grove, Strafford, etc....,they will be prepared. Lamar has gone on the road before, so I don't think this year will be any different. Why would it matter if they go on the road in the quarters or in the semis? They are going to have to beat a good team on the road, just like every year.
I would think of any year, this one would be the one I'd want to host the semi with such clear and seemingly close contenders. It's a given Lamar will bring their best wherever it takes place. Just throwing out the only scenario that offers the comforts of home.
In a word, yes. Not to say this Lathrop team is better or worse than LN last year, but this Lamar team is different. I've noticed a tendency for slightly undiciplined play, more so than in past seasons. Plenty of time to still clean this up of course, but they don't have a handle on it yet. Those type of issues seem to be enhanced on the road IMO.

I’m becoming more aware of that. I think everyone should loosen up. Including myself. Yeah that guy is crappy. But I could handle it better. Not everyone is going to go back and see his comments towards me. A few on here know how far he will go during a football discussion. Beyond anything reasonable. I sometimes do it myself. Holden vs Lafayette County would be a great matchup. They played in Holden during the regular season, in what was a back and forth game all night. Higginsville went 91 yards with 1:55 left on the clock to score the game winning TD. In other words, these are two evenly matched teams. But like you said, we don't want to get ahead of ourselves. Let's not take any team too lightly.
I can tell ya that I would expect Strafford/FG, Lawson/Lexington, and Lathrop/Macon to all be pretty good ones!
South Callaway / North Callaway game last week went to overtime. North Callaway has struggled recently but came back against S C last week in the second half to show they aren't going to go away easily. I would take SC as the winner but NC won't just roll over in this one.
