What's the landscape look like? Webb in Class 5 - who can challenge them? Lutheran North - C1, 2 or 3? Will the StL dominance continue? Who's gonna be a suprise this year?
How good will Staley be this year? What's the landscape look like? Webb in Class 5 - who can challenge them? Lutheran North - C1, 2 or 3? Will the StL dominance continue? Who's gonna be a suprise this year?
My assumption will be that Ladue and Webb will be Class 5, LN will be class 3.What's the landscape look like? Webb in Class 5 - who can challenge them? Lutheran North - C1, 2 or 3? Will the StL dominance continue? Who's gonna be a suprise this year?
Donohoe to Rockhurst for openers...I have heard by the grapevine that there has been an inordinate amount of coaching staff realignment in the Suburban Conference in and around the greater K. C. area.
Does anyone on here have a handle on all or most of the changes or is the grapevine exaggerating the magnitude of the changes?
Any others leave with him? And who took his place plus any he brought?Donohoe to Rockhurst for openers...
Don't know about that although I'd be surprised if he didn't take some of his assistant coaches with him. The new Blue Springs coach is from out of state so who knows...Any others leave with him? And who took his place plus any he brought?
I know Ray-Pec had a changing of the guard at the top but don't know if any coordinators or position coaches changed.
He's double dipping... and I'm reasonably sure that the Rock boosters more than made it "worth his while."Leaving a public school with a good retirement system to a private school may not be a good move.
I've been Gatewayed !!!They are still playing HS football in KC?
Exactly and Coach Donohoe was. Most of the staff at Blue Springs probably is not.(Unless you’re ready to retire)
It’s setup to be unusual for sure. Schools may have varying levels of practice and coordination. Some teams may be short handed due to parents opting their kids out. Then there are coach changes. And classification changes. And will there be many or any fans? Plus all the usual unknowns related to graduations and upcoming players.
If WC is indeed C5 I don’t know who might challenge them. If you look at the group that usually populates the top 10, many of them could challenge the cardinals but only on the right night or in the right year.
I saw them vs. Staley in the class 5 semifinal game last fall... They were well coached and absolutely huge across their Oline. If most of that group returns, they will be a force come playoff time. That’s a pretty salty bunch of programs there. They’re saying Jackson should be a couple notches better than they were last year.

I think they have a lineman that committed to Alabama
In a strange year, Mizzou is currently ranked #19. Yes, I know they won't stay there but impressive none the less for the new staff.Your right he had an offer from Alabama but committed to Mizzou
Delay the season til late September, and only play conference regular season or 8 games, and be done. What's the landscape look like? Webb in Class 5 - who can challenge them? Lutheran North - C1, 2 or 3? Will the StL dominance continue? Who's gonna be a suprise this year?

I keep having a feeling this is what is going to happen, and based on the current issues, this would be a huge win for football in high schoolDelay the season til late September, and only play conference regular season or 8 games, and be done.

If we get to play anything at all people better be happy.
Or somebody (somebodies) are gonna get snowflaked triggered.Or what?
Fort Osage would be the other program. Lost their running back last year to an ACL in the Jamboree. Maybe not this year. But the incoming sophomores won the 7th Grade National Title in Pop Warner. I think one of their better players got recruited by Lees Summit North, which turned into a big deal last year and resulted in MSHSAA penalties.Staley can be a real tough out. I think it was 2018 when they lost their QB to a violent injury, really killed their morale. They are a solid top ten fixture in Class 5.
[2019] Webb City (MO) 31, [2019] Staley (Kansas City, MO) 13
[2018] Webb City (MO) 28, [2018] Staley (Kansas City, MO) 17
[2017] Staley (Kansas City, MO) 31, [2017] Webb City (MO) 26
[2016] Staley (Kansas City, MO) 28, [2016] Webb City (MO) 21
[2015] Webb City (MO) 21, [2015] Staley (Kansas City, MO) 14

Jackson only lost one lineman (RT) to graduation. In addition, their top two running backs return after being lost to knee injuries last season. Most of their defense will also return including first team all-state LB Bryce Norman. Nobody on Jackson’s squad plays both ways.I saw them vs. Staley in the class 5 semifinal game last fall... That was a real good game to watch. Staley's defense was top drawer as well but their offense could not muster any real sustained drives playing with their backup QB. It finally showed in the 2nd half when the Staley D became exhausted.Jackson only lost one lineman (RT) to graduation. That strong wind had a big influence on the game. That was a real good game to watch. Staley's defense was top drawer as well but their offense could not muster any real sustained drives playing with their backup QB. It finally showed in the 2nd half when the Staley D became exhausted.
I would add that the Jackson fans were a class act.
