Nice to finally have one quarter of growth after several in a row of contraction..... I wonder how much of that was because of govt spending and expenditures to the Ukraine War?

They are making a 10/14 percent profit off production and sales. Not unreasonable or insane by any stretch business wise. When the Global Market goes whack then of course Prices increase but so does the cost of doing business. Every cent of increase for production is always passed on to the consumer the profit margin for Oil companies has not increased by a huge percent as they have incurred increased cost as well.
And you restaurant example is simply not a reflection of the over all economic numbers. Or feelings from a huge swath of the population.

Nobody has forgot that, that is on Trump he should of 100% not locked down the economy for even 2 weeks, he should of gagged Fauci and let the Virus run its course as fast as possible and done what had been done historically isolated the weak and infirm and let things be business as usual. The economy is cyclical, and subject to major national and global events, i.e. covid, the '08 housing investment/banking crisis, 9/11, The economy was on an upward cycle when Trump took office. Let's not forget we have really only been back to "normal" from covid for about 16 months. No president from either party was going to turn the economy around overnight after the devastation of a - 3.4% economic decline in "2020. NO ONE. Stop it with the shouldda, wouldda, couldda nonsense, decisions were made and we have to live with it, and hopefully learn.

Jobs disappear? Unemployment is about 3%, that is called FULL employment by most folks. When did we get to NO covid to deal with?
The economic effects of covid don't disappear overnight. People gradually went back to work, to restaurants, shopping, ballgames...
The economic effects we are feeling are from the Ukraine instability and the BS vendetta that Biden's Administration has with the SA.

Biden can blame the Ukraine and SA/Russian issues for the economy, but Covid is in the rear view mirror. Of course blaming the Ukraine/SA/Russian issues means he would have to take responsibility for his policies....blaming Covid is Politically smarter.
I mean I have no issue with blaming Trump for running up the debt and bowing to the Knuckle heads who wanted to tank the economy and go on extended lockdown and closures.

I am so glad it is done. Wish I would have known it last week when I was out sick from that thang that is done.
Done means it is now part of life......just like the Flu, Herpes, or HIV. Living in a constant state of anxiety, masking, boosting and isolating can't continue forever no matter how much the Overlords want the minions to do as they flaunt the rules and live their lives.
We've been taking flu shots every fall for as long as I can remember, I reckon that might be the same with covid. That doesn't mean I'd rather have covid than the flu.

I am due for my booster this month. I was a tier 2 and got my first shot 2 months before it was open to the general population, I got my boosters on time every 6 months, and I'm just now due for my next booster. I'm guessing most of America isn't due for a booster for a couple months. Just saying....
Agree, most people not getting boosters probably because they feel safe. With 80-85% of adults who are vaccinated, the majority of Americans have built up resistance to the virus. The vaccine has worked, as bad as MG won't admit it. The Covid Death March would still be going on without the vaccine.
I am skeptical of Statistics spewed out by a lot of so called studies that are not Double Blinded etc.
But the amount of Doses that have been sent out are known.... and the amount given are tracked.... as well as the amount of dose that are destroyed. That type of stuff is regulated. ...
Whooaaaa wait a minute. I never said the Vaccine didn't work, I said it could have dangers, and that it should be a choice to take. And that if one wanted to go the natural immunity route they should be allowed to do that as well. I have took the Vax and a Booster.... My point is that the Lockdowns, Masking and Isolation of the healthy didn't work. I never said the Vax didn't have benefits. Please don't confuse my disdain for mandated Masking and Lockdowns with the Vax.
The limited data suggest that the vaccine gives you about 5 months to 8 months of protection although nobody is sure of the duration, then you need a booster. How much resistance is built up is also up for debate as the studies are incomplete. But clearly it's not enough for them to push the Booster unless $$$ is the reason for the hardcore push, I know my GF will and her Cohorts are getting paid a crap ton of $$$$ along with Meals to go sit at certain locations to give out Boosters..... so far in her co-workers have given out 6 shots in 2 days....not cost efficient for the taxpayer .
