Just like MV did last year right? In most years, those 3 teams would have finished in the middle to bottom of the traditional Big 8, let alone the state.

How do you figure? Below is how the divisions finished. Cassville, Lamar are sure wins if the play accross. I think Seneca beats Marshfeild. Reeds and Monett I think would be a good game, But Reeds is hard to get a read on, they blanked Seneca but then lost to Marshfield and had almost 600 yards of offense in that game? Mac County Beats Hollister. Nevada and Aurora would be a push. Log Rog would roll the Newt. So I just don't see how the rest stunk it up compared to the other side?
Cassville9-0,6-0 Mt Vernon 8-1 5-1
Lamar8-1,5-1 Catholic 7-2-5-1
Seneca 4-5,4-2 Marshfield 7-2, 4-2
Monett 4-5,3-3 Reeds 6-3, 4-2
McDonald Co.3-6,2-4 Hollister 4-5, 2-4
Nevada1-8,1-5 Aurora 2-7, 1-5
East Newton0-9,0-6 Log Rog 0-9, 0-6
Look at the head to head.. It wasnt close, this year..13-8 Not every year will be like this but the east was better overall. I agree Cassville and Lamar are at the top but then Most of the east would be next. As far as your matchups..Dont see how you can say Mc County beats Hollister since they DID play and Hollister got the win. You would be right most of the time about Monett and Reeds Spring being a good game but not sure it would be this year... I am not a total believer in Calpreps but as an example they say the Wolves would win by 3TDs. Unless something has changed since I saw them Aurora is better than Nevada. The former COC schools did a good job of holding their own... something that most thought would not happen.
Point is, talk was that they would get run off the field and it was not the case.. I am all for talking about the overall strength of the whole league. Which is really something when you think about it. Im sure that the poster that brought up the East being stronger from top to bottom, this year, only did so because of being surprised because it went against all that was being said when the league expansion happened. They held their own never having to play Both Lamar and Cassville, Swap out Lamar and Cassville for Aurora and MV and let’s see How they finish.

Thanks for helping prove my point. When MV managed to get to get to a state final game last year, it showed that it is possible to have some success, even when your team is not very talented. Coaching was the key to their run, and playing several other average teams along the way helped. If you are going to win at the highest level, you have to have talent. Cassville and Lamar are the only teams in the Big 14 that have a high overall level of talent this year.
10 points sir!!!The Big 8 should consider splitting into two conferences. Maybe call one the Big 8 and the other something like Small Central Ozarks Conference?
Didn't they lose by 40 in the state championship game?Just like MV did last year right?

Class 1 has an undefeated Midway in ninth.
Absolutely no love for a swmo class 2 squad not named Lamar.
They have a half dozen state titles, so there's that..How many years does Cass Midway do this though? I think the past 5-6 years they have had 0-3 losses. And destroy districts teams. And than proceed to lose. It’s kinda puzzling. I think they can go far this year though.

Adrian was ranked ahead of Pierce City before Midway beat the Blackhawks. Now undefeated PC is ranked 4 and undefeated Midway has a bunch of one and two loss teams ranked between them and PC at 9. They're media rankings so they are suspect anyway.
There is a lot of churn in class 1. Conferences are evolving, long time rivalries are lost to 8 man. Probably the hardest class to accurately rank outside of Hayti being #1.
