They'll probably get beat by the team who's leading a Class 3 team by 7 at half. A good class 3 team no doubt, but nonetheless.
Kearney won't have to deal with Stanley again this year. They've given more beatings like this than they've taken and I'd bet a dollar they'll take care of their district business.
Harrisonville took one on the chin much like this last season. Definitely wouldn't count on the Bulldogs laying down from here on out, most likely just the opposite

Had I seen some fight out of them I would agree. Last week many up here thought I was being too critical of them as they were beating a bad Raytown (after playing in their sleep the first quarter just like tonight). I don't see that championship attitude from this team..............perhaps they simply realize Staley is elite (my favorite to win Class 5 and with ease pre-season) and the real teams they need to beat lie ahead. Who knows?

I am not surprised. Staley is mega-elite this year and that close shave vs. Fort O woke them up. This team laid 62 on Platte County and, from what I understand, could have scored 80. The other side I finally witnessed in person last week. The O Line is a MAJOR weakness. To say they miss Coach Luellen is about as big an understatement as can be made, MUCH more so than Jones. The other side of the ball is still slow and can be passed on at will. The cushion they gave Staley's receivers (Platte County has better ones, BTW) was ridiculous. That is on coaching...................I rarely call that out but have to after what I've seen the past two weeks.

That's the spirit...............teaching kids sportsmanship like usual.
All this proves to me is that Kearney is beatable but Staley is a very good team so I wouldn't write Kearney off just yet. Staley is not in their district.

This was revenge for Kearney de-facto running up the score at Staley in 2013. High school kids come and go as do some fans BUT coaches NEVER forget. The other side of this is Staley is mega-elite. The chat about this being a better team than 2011 is more than right. I had this pegged pre-season. Barring a bunch of key injuries they will get revenge on Vianney in Columbia Thanksgiving weekend. Mark it down.
Made me wonder when Kearneys defense let a pretty average team move the ball as well as they did last week

Left this at halftime. Staley could have named the score. Huge difference in team talent in this one. Second time seeing the Falcons and they are for real. First time seeing Kearney but Platte County looms very large next week.

This game was never going to be close. Staley is loaded. Not only that they are physical enough to beat you up if they chose to run the same play 40 times in a row.
Have any of you thought why head coaches leave one job for another? It's talent or money, but given the choice between money or talent returning, they will always choose talent.
What the polls or fans think doesn't matter. What matters is what teams do on the field. Playing up and losing badly to Staley doesn't hurt Kearney unless the players quit. Shame on you for being so full of spite.
I’m not a regular so I guess I fell for it ... I realized it was all a ruse after I looked at CalPreps and saw it had eight Class 1 teams ranked ahead of Glendale lol

Platte County has better WRs than even Staley. That is how they kept it close until the second half.................K cannot defend the pass. I would today predict the Pirates not only erase the "curse" but do so in a big way.

Raytown lost at St. Joe Central, one of the bottom teams in all the Suburban conferences.................sorry but that pretty much says it all.
I don't think they miss Coach Lue nearly as much as they miss coach Jones. Some of the personnel decisions are truly head-scratching. Coach G appears to have "senioritis" For the most part seniors play, and when the game gets out of hand (one way or the other), seniors down the depth chart get the garbage minutes (whereas Jones used those situations to get underclassmen experience.)
Gray tried to make the seniors work at qb; tried to play favorites at K; he's got a weak link or two in the OL and in the secondary. He needs to figure out how to be a HC at big boy HS fb a little more quickly.
Do I think these could be remedied to make a deep run in class 4 - heck yes; would making those changes have resulted in a W @ Staley - hell no (that's a machine.)
