I remember walking out of pops and the sun hitting my eyes, it was very similar to that scene out of varsity blues, then I realize I’ve gotta work in 2 hours and I’m 30 min from the house. 🤣

Hey now, I’ve ended up at Pops Nightclub dancing and enjoying spirits until 5AM before. But that area is ROUGHHHHH.

Probably been about 7-8 years since I’ve been there though. Back in my younger years when I lived in the Lou for about 3-4 years.

I grew up in Holt went to Kearney HS have been back for a dozen years (already my God) but back in my "on my own" roaring 20s-30s actually did freelance (tip only) DJ duty at OZ. How I know what you accurately call a rough town...............

Here’s how we did it:

Start the night in the burbs

Around 11 or so: head to either the central west end or Soulard(Mollys or 1860s)

At around 1245 head to the 3AM bars downtown and then at around 230 or so head across the river to Pops until…whenever 🤣🤣

Sometimes I miss those days, sometimes I don’t 🤣

I hope private schools win every state title until the end of time. If I had a kid coming through the ranks I would send them to a private school based on the closed enrollment rules MO has.
