The guy posted this " i was told some high level sponsors saw the video and said if thats all there was they better be playing friday night."
I had no idea that people giving money to a public school program like Joplin's would have influence on disciplinary action of the school
welcome to 2021...donations have influence...always have always will. now whats going to happen with these kids from now till friday..i have zero clue.
Sorry I am having a hard time understanding this as well. I tend to think of HS sponsors more like advertisers using part of their community involvement budget where they pay to put their logo somewhere in the facility or maybe run a commercial mainly in general support of the school and community.
Not really the same thing as what you see in college where there are large corporate sponsors looking for a return on their 'investment' or the deep pocketed dudes that hand out large blanket donations in exchange for a seat at the decision making table. Yeah some schools have those instances where a particular company or individual is particularly generous and funds a project. I don't believe David Hafner or the Steadley's or the guy who donated the indoor practice field expects or even wants a seat at the table in matters like this though. Maybe Tamko does with Joplin? But I doubt it unless David H has a kid on the team or some personal motive to see this specific season or one of those specific kids succeed on the field.
If those kids are out for 10 days I think Joplin will have their hands full with Nixa.
Im here to tell all you clowns, yes, donors have a voice! If you got the green, you get to be seen! I didnt turn the Ampipe Booster Club, and subsequently the community, around with piddly fundraisers. However, it sounds like Joplin booster club president needs to get more involved! What kind of a club president lets some of the star players get suspended!?

just repeating what i was told from a joplin parent. i dont know the dynamics and inner workings from all parties involved...the why how and who. joplin won't beat nixa with the team they fielded vs summit. the defense will put up fight but the offense wont be able to keep up. cept for the oline its basically the jv and van gilder is hobbled with a bad wheel.

Kid that was attacked has concussion and a couple broken bones……. School board has been having almost nightly meetings regarding incident. Not looking good for players returning this week.
Did they attack their own teammate? A concussion and broken bones sound like a felony assault.

wondering as well,those ive spoken to said it was overblown too. however bones and concussion seems a bit serious.
Right? I'm never one to get terribly involved in menial stuff of my own kids. But dang, if one comes home with broken bones and a concussion I'm sure as heck going to do some digging. And regardless of the scenario, I sure wouldn't classify it as overblown.

Since this all happened they night before the game I think they had to suspend all possible suspects until after an investigation. Not sure what exactly happened because there is a ton of rumors going on.
