IF Jackson wins, regardless of the final score, the webbie trash on here will still say Jackson has yet to play “someone, you know, good.”

I sat on Webb City's side in both Har-Ber games down there. Have never had a reason to dislike their program or fans. This particular year I hope they get turboed in the championship. They need to be taken down a peg or thousand.
Not ALL webbies, just the webbie trash who enjoys disparaging other teams with snide, childish, playground-style comments. This one in particular injected himself, as a webbie, into the thread, not the other way around.

Got a chance to see Jackson MINUS their top two RBs win at Staley then almost win it all. Welker alone is a load. Cannot imagine how good that kid must be this year. I like Jackson against ANYONE but Webb has been a major dog before. Nowhere near their first time should this matchup happen.
In the eyes of a Webb City fan another team can only be considered "good" when they've beaten Webb City and even then it can be sketchy and will be spun into some explanation that they were the better team, just beat themselves really.
Then they shift the discussion to which is a better program overall instead of who was best that year or that game - and by virtue of that they can still lay claim to being "better".
There are enough Webb City fans in my office that I hear it routinely.
But on the topic of the thread I think this is an interesting match and if I were anywhere close I'd try to go watch. Carthage played both of these teams last year and both were very great teams and great games.
I was referring to Zumwalt North and Jackson. FZN was 20-17 and Jackson was 27-21 OT.
I think webbies have a one-track mind, such that ANY reference to WC in ANY thread can elicit a misconstrued response.
Welker's YPG stats are down this year but his efficiency is way up. His QB rating in 153.4 with 0 interceptions and a 71.6% completion rate.
Jackson's offensive strength lies in the fact that they are so amazingly run/pass balanced, 2593/2465 this year. What you saw last year at Staley was the run game with their #3 RB who broke away and scored the final TD on 4th and 1. The high winds dictated that scheme, but Jackson was still able to get off a long pass which set them up at the 1 yd. line for a TD in the first half.

I bet Jackson coaches love when you keep saying that. Only thing worse than a Jackson team on a mission? A Jackson team with a chip on their shoulder! They are too focused and disciplined to let trash talk knock them off track.
I have had several long time coaches say that Jackson is the best team in the state this year. Their defense is underrated IMO. Obv we have 2 more weeks to find out.

Projecting back one year this week Staley prides its physicality big time. Not sure they expected Jackson to match that but did they ever. The Falcons did not score ONE POINT vs. that D. Having the backup QB played a part but their O Line got owned most of the day.
Again, webbie/COC arrogance on display. This is always webbies’ fall-back position.
How many of those QBs you haven’t named will be first team All State this year? Of course, we all know Welker gets to play against girls teams all season and still was named first team All State QB in C-5 the past 2 years.

Last year’s game against Battle would be a good example. Too bad Jackson is not getting them at The Pit this week.

FWIW I’ve thought Jackson has been legit all year not to mention last year.
Not sure if sarcasm since the COC came within about 8 minutes of sweeping class 4-6 last year.
But this year, one of those teams finished 6-5 and another one got crushed in the district final. Also, the 6-5 team beat the only other team from the vaunted COC left in the playoffs. I would say, sarcastically, the COC ain’t what it used to be. 😎
That’s probably fair. That said, Nixa finished 3rd in the conference and took Ray-Pec to the wire and class 4 isn’t represented in the semis because Webb City moved up to Class 5. Pretty much impossible to duplicate what happened last year. Still a pretty strong league.

I was more impressed Jackson's defense held Chaminade led by D1-bound Amar Johnson (RB) and Cam Epps (ATH) to one first down as opposed to scoring 56 points in the first half. Three interceptions, including a pick 6.
