Is this something both Trump and Pelosi could agree to?

Home of the Cubs!!
How about this, instead of building a border wall let's do this. Congress needs to pass a law that says any American company doing business or production in Mexico has to pay the same wages there as they do in America. Now all of a sudden Mexico has higher paying jobs and everybody will want to go to Mexico for a good paying job and low cost of living. If we bring their cost of living up no longer will America look better than Mexico.

I would offer citizenship for Dreamers and watch Dems commuting political suicide if they didn't vote for it

He had that deal on the table with about $25 billion for border security attached to it a year or so back. That was another deal he had agreed to then changed his mind so it didn't get done.

I know they say we had some deals done, but did any of these deals actually pass both the house and Senate and end up on the Presidents desk? Anybody can say a deal was done and so and so said no, but until something actually passes both the Senate and the house I don't think we had a bill or deal? Last I heard the president had to veto something for it to be rejected.

McConnell doesn't have the guts to send him a bill to see if he'll veto it or not. The leaders on both sides AND Trump had all agreed on the 25 billion dollar deal for border security AND a DACA deal then Trump backed out so he never had a bill get to his desk. He'll most likely never get another deal offered with that kind of money for border security. McConnell needs to do HIS own job and see what happens.

So I guess this is the McConnell shutdown? everybody needs to do their job.

I think we need to open the government this is ridiculous on both sides.

Not a fan of Mitch McConnell and the unforeseen consequences of his actions. By not at least having a hearing on Merrick Garland, he may have screwed conservatives out of another Supreme Court Justice if, God forbid, Ruth Bader Ginsburg were to vacate her seat for whatever reason.

OK, I need to understand your thinking here.
IF, and while a possibility it's not a sure thing, RBG were to need replaced, Trump picks a nominee and tolled Senate confirms the nominee (easier vote now than with Kavenaugh). How has the process been screwed by McConnell if you want a Trump appointment rather than an Obama appointment?

By setting a precedent of not having confirmation hearings in an election year, let's say RBG does at the end of 2019 I could see mass opposition to Trump getting to appoint another justice until after 2020. You saw what Kavanaugh went through, theyll do everything they can to avoid another Trump appointment.

Sure there would be screaming tantrums but who could stop the confirmation?
