What are the Cardinals problems that hurt them last year and continue to hurt them now?

Diaz is a good hitter but a below average MLB SS. Not much range. Not a great arm. You can't fix that.

Wong's sporadic use. Is it the cause of his his poor performance or is it because of his poor performance?

Yadi is physically, not even close to what he was behind the plate three years ago.

Adams has been used in LF after not working there for most of spring training
. His hitting has not improved. This is just bizarre.

Grichuk gets out of bed with an 0-2 count.
He routinely takes strikes and swings at balls. The result, a 25% K rate. He can never be a 3-4 hitter. We desperately need one.

In 36 innings of work last year, Cecil blew 7 games. Is it getting better?

Peralta is a shell of a man.

Gyorko, Garcia, Wong are all second basemen. We signed Wong to a long deal.

Dexter Heyward was given $82 MIL.

Matheny and Yadi both signed three year extensions.

The people on the big club roster are playing too poorly to trade for a defensive SS or a slugger.

Has Mo painted himself into a corner with these contracts?

These problems are not small sample size issues, all but Adams in left have been going on for over a year and the Adams thing is just mind boggling. As most of you know I have been in Matheny's corner, but it is impossible to do when he puts Adams in left. Tonight's game is huge as the Donald would say. We need to win bigly
