Weathers started but came out early reinjured. Henderson played most of the game but ran with a limp and couldn't really cut ... Parks played about half the game . They were all really banged up . Gaskill played hurt as well (groin) . If healthy it may have changed the play calling some but they couldn't afford to throw an incomplete pass on early downs with those backs all limping around . Bottom line is ladue won the Los on defense and deserved a hard fought victory. At full strength it could have been different but you play with what you have available. If Webb doesn't fumble on the 20 and picks up a first down or two and then punts ....they likely win . It was a dog fight just like last year and no different than last year , either team could have won. Ladue made more plays in critical moments and deserved the victory
NOPE incorrect. Top talent has always Flocked to the Private schools because they are nicer, better programs, and better education. These schools have gotten much better coaching the last few years is the difference.
Also STL has had a talent BOOM. Its more D1 guys in STL than every before in the cities history. That leads to having 6 teams at State. You guys have a losers mentality lol

In NWMO Harrisonville will be the team to watch come 2019. Graduation is hitting every one of the four Highway 92 schools hard...........
I don't think Webb has played against a better defensive line since 2009 semi-finals. Watching our QB struggle to get the hand-off reminded me of 2003. I was surprised Ladue did not score much higher. Credit to our defense I guess but I was also surprized Ladue did not go for the endzone to #7 at least once each time they go stuck around the 30 yd line. That kid was just plain all around talented!
I thought #7's punts were a key to the game. He pinned Webb deep two or three times down around the 5. He was such an overall talented player.

Just WOW. Not sure there has ever been a public school program like that! Maybe Marshfield (right up 44) back in the late 80s.
Speaking of Stafford girls ....drive home from work tonight I heard some of the Joplin vs Stafford girls BB game ....Stafford was up 64-6 in the second qtr lol

I would love to see them play Incarnate Word Academy. That would be something else..........
I remember the Webb girls making it to the state championship a few times and getting crushed by Incarnate
I don't follow much girls BB but I know Joplin isn't real great ....but they have like 2300 students and Stafford is also a public school that has what ? 500? They must be amazing
Carl Junction played Incarnate Word in the state title game last year. IW won by around 40.

Kearney played them in the semis took them to OT. Probably the best girls BB team in Dogs history.............

I believe Napheesa Collier who played for Auriemma at UConn was on at least one of those teams. Likely the top girls BB player in MO history.
Strafford is a school with about 360, 9th - 12th, students.

Bahaha.. The KC schools, for the most part are Class 5 and 6. KC teams were in the final in both those categories. Then rank below that...
Staley, Raytown and NKC are all in the top 10 in Class 5. All in KC, and some beat Fort---who is in the Championship.
Besides Rock... Lee's Summit West, LSN, Blue Springs, Liberty and Park Hill, ARE ALL top 10. (6 of the top 10 from KC)
Bahaha. Several weeks ago, Joey was railing how it wasn't right that STL got all the attention in recruiting ranks ... and countered with the KC teams being better because of the state championships they have won. Now this year, STL may be winning all the state championships ... so he counters with "Then rank below that". Too funny!

1. KANSAS CITY AREA - 23 CHAMPIONS
2. ST. LOUIS AREA - 20 CHAMPIONS
3. EVERYONE ELSE - 17 CHAMPIONS (THANKS WEBB/CAMDENTON)
I won't even go into the depth of the field, because usually half of the top 10 in Class 6 and Class 5 are from KC. But you know that, unless you are a complete.....
Yeah that was a tough one to call for me. Strafford has 4 returning starters and are the 3 time defending Class 3 state champs, have a (now) 83 game winning streak, and the MO Gatorade Player of the Year and Mizzou commit in Haley Frank. Plus an amazing supporting cast. Final ended being 94-15. Strafford plays a suffocating defense and press. Eagles most likely had twice as many turnovers than points. In Joplin's defense they had a returning starter get hurt in softball and is out plus they had 3 others out who either were sick or injured. Not to say that they wouldn't have been blasted otherwise because they would have but there is that. It's the chicken and egg scenario with the JHS girls program....nobody goes out or go to other schools because they lose a lot and they lose a lot because nobody goes out.
Wait... so you’re saying the areas of the state that have the most Class 4/5/6 schools, in turn have more 4/5/6 championships....?
