Well in 2014 IMG had an annual revenue of $83million. From the looks of the purchase statement they think that they expect that to really grow over the next years. We see it here less and less kids are participating as they are getting pushed out of sports because of the ever increasing cost of just participating for your local high school team. In the 80's we had no camps, killer two a days, but no camps, you could go to summer weights and things, but your summer was your summer. But today for kids to participate just in high school sports with all the camps and things it could be well over $1,000 for a family so one child can play a sport, then if you are a multi sport athlete, all of those camps over the summer travel, wow it can get expensive for some families, so honestly I am not surprised we are not seeing participation numbers going down, along with multi sport participation.
From thier statement on the purchase they said. "Overall participation in youth sports
is still rebounding from Covid-19. An Aspen Institute report conducted in late 2021 found about 44% of respondents said their local community sports programs had closed or operated at a reduced capacity."
Interest in top-tier sports programs, however, appears to be on the rise, and Nord Anglia plans to incorporate IMG Academy’s sports curriculum into its existing network of 82 schools.
