The defending Class 3 state champion Crusaders remained undefeated after downing Class 3 foe Dexter 25-13, 25-21 for the championship of the Notre Dame VolleyballFest on Saturday at Notre Dame Regional High School in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Helias Catholic posted a flawless 6-0 record in pool play on its way to the championship. The Crusaders improved to 11-0 on the season.
Dexter (7-2-1) dealt Class 3 District 1 nemesis Notre Dame its first loss of the season in the tournament semifinal. The Bulldogs were undefeated going into the tournament and now stand at 6-1-1 on the season.
Perryville was also undefeated heading into the tournament but now the Pirates' record stands at 4-4 following four straight-set losses in the weekend tournament.
Ste. Genevieve was also undefeated but now the Dragons are 4-2-2.
