You people are just ignorant. Farm subsidies are not in place to help farmers. Subsidies are in place to keep food prices artificially low so poor people can afford to feed their families.

I could care less if you take away dairy subsidies,,price of milk will go to $10 in the store where it should be. At the end of the day farmer probably make more at the end of the year without the govt money

2016 when Federal gov initiated price supports (mostly to help soybean farmers) it amounted to just a tad over $1 billion,,,,the total value of agricultural production in 2016 was over $1 Trillion

Tariffs do matter and they are an excellent tool to regulate trade. In 2022 China imported a record $37 Billion in agricultural products from the USA over double what they bought before Trump slapped tariffs on them
