Had the number one team in the country on the ropes down 21-20 and you go for two....GOD I hate going for two when an extra point ties the game. It fails what 95% of the time! Why do coaches take it out of the hands of the rest of the team? NC Defense played their butts off

Veer understands if you hate 20 teams you can almost always be happy someone lost. Rooting for the same team each year leaves you vulnerable.
I'm personally a fan of going for 2. You're a severe underdog. Your team has played way above their talent level. Let's not sugar coat it, the talent gap between Clemson and NC is large. But when you have the #1 team on the ropes you gotta go for the knockout punch. I'm not a fan of the play call, but I like going for two. NC's between the tackles running was working very well. Why not feed your back when he carried them all the way down the field? I say all of that not to say that you're wrong for not wanting to go for two but just that I'm my opinion it made sense.

If you are Mack Brown and before the game are told you have one shot to get 3 yards and you win the game I think you are pretty excited. If you are Dabo and you're told you have one shot to defend 3 yards to win the game you are probably going to be pretty nervous about it.
For North Carolina it is the right call being the underdog. If it is reversed and Clemson scores, you kick and tie the game because you are the better team. It was a no brainer to me. You play to win.
I am all in on going for two. The problem was trying to run wide on a fast defense was a pretty horrible call.
The ran a very slow developing triple option play out of the gun. It had worked for them in the middle of the field earlier, but on the goal line against Clemson’s team speed? No chance. Loved going for it, just didn’t call the right play.
They ran almost the exact same played Carthage tried to beat Joplin with . Terrible play against a fast defense especially when your qb is 240 pounds and has about 300 yds rushing between the tackles
If I were Carthage , id have some sort of short yard package with Muller in Wildcat , Carlton and Schrader as H Backs -Sniffer back and running power right behind Campa . Good freaking luck stopping that
