COC Pick Em Week 5

A lot of 100% scores last week! Is Branson pretty decent this year or is Neosho just bad at an epic level? Not sure what to think about CJ. WC is back. Nixa is still looking good and Ozark as well. Carthage didn't play so I'm still not entirely sure where they fit in. Joplin has lost 2 games but did beat Webb City. So at this point I'd say WC is the favorite but Nixa probably has week 7 circled on their schedule.

Not sure how the canceled Carthage game will factor into the COC picture.

For this week ---

Branson at Carthage - Branson looks improved. Not sure what effects rona will have on the Tigers. Might be a closer game than people expect? Carthage 35-21
Joplin at Willard - Willard is due for a win but I don't see them finding it against the Eagles. Joplin 41-20
Neosho at Nixa - Nixa by as many as they want.
Ozark at Republic - I believe either are capable of winning this game but I'll go with Ozark 28-21
CJ at Webb City - Webb City by a lot. Let's say 48-10

I haven’t seen Ozark this year, but have heard they look pretty good.

I watched them play at Carthage week 1 and also at Joplin - they were better than I expected but probably not someone I see as a contender for the district.

However I will say they have been a sleeper over the last several years so nothing would surprise me. They've picked some wins over Carthage in years when Carthage was very good and is also on the very short list of teams who have dealt Webb City a home loss in recent memory.

Carthage volleyball canceled their match for tomorrow night

Yes and multiple other non varsity games have been canceled in the last week. Last I saw there were still only a half dozen or so cases district wide but something like 200 quarantined for "possible" exposure. Sometimes quarantine orders can last for a very long time.

I actually do not know if varsity will play this week. I haven't heard that's it's canceled but I am kind of expecting to hear that announcement in the next day or two.

Branson at Carthage - Carthage. Not close. Unless Carthage has missed a lot of practice time to Rona. And even then I still think it's a couple touchdowns.

Joplin at Willard - Joplin by a lot.

Neosho at Nixa - Nixa by more than a lot. Be able to get to Coyotes early after the game!

Ozark at Republic - Probably the only decent matchup in the conference this week. Red Tigers win it, but it'll be a ballgame.

CJ at Webb City - Webb by a lot.

I wish I knew. As of now there has been nothing about the game being canceled, so I assume they are planning on playing. But there hasn't been any communication on the subject so I think a lot of people are wondering. Branson may have another shot at picking off a discombobulated Carthage team.
