when he returns from the DL. They say he will not be held for only long relief. He could be a beast for an inning or two if he's truly healthy. They say they're doing this because he can come back quicker than if they had him rehab long enough to stretch out for a starting spot. Should be be interesting.

Remember that one time Reyes was not starting again all season

Then came back as a starter and ended his season immediately?

You mean the time they let him hit 100 in his second rehab appearance and then never came close to that again?

Hopefully he's taken care of this next time around. Hate to see a young talent be cut short

Hopefully they can work their magic on Cecil and keep him from coming back!

Nothing gives me more confidence than the Cardinals medical staff saying they have found a way to get a guy back faster.
I'd say this is more of a Mo decision than the training staff. He doesn't wanna take a chance on CMart throwing too many pitches the rest of this season. It does make sense that he would have to do more in his rehab stints to be able tp come back as a starter. I'm trying to figure out where the heck they think Waino will get any innings after his rehab when this team is trying to make a run at the playoffs now. Surely that too would have be in short spurts with a nice lead.

CMart outta the pen kinda excites me. Him, Hicks, and Norris just coming in and blowing gas and breaking off sliders seems kinda fun. Would hope Wacha could come back as a starter to help out the rotation though. Truthfully, with the above three, Hudson, Poncedeleon, Mayers...that’s a pen that can cover some innings.
