Class 4 St. Charles forfeits to Trinity

It's unfortunate that Lamar won't meet Trinity or Lutheran North in Columbia in the Championship Game this year. We could bring you St. Paul Sandwiches and you could bring us a home cooked Amish meal.

Well that fact just ruined the comedic quality of this whole post.... We'll have to bring Chicken Annies or Chicken Mary's. you'll have to google that to decide which one.

If you are claiming the Trinities get legitimate local kids then you need to show they pay the same tuition as the rest of their students. If they actually do, i'm good with it. If they don't, they are building a team through means other than hard work.

@crusder_2 Not trying to start something up here...but just a few legitimate questions.

I went to the District Championship game last year to watch Lutheran North at Trinity because I knew it would be a hell of a game and I was not dissappointed...two GREAT teams...and both very well coached.

I still have the program for that game and as I look at it....Trinity lists the grade school from which each player came (as is common practice for many Private High Schools).

The Trinity roster listed 49 players on their roster...and of those 49 players, 29 of them attended public middle schools.

So...only 20 out of 49 players attended a private, Catholic Middle School.

My question...is this common? Do lots of St. Louis Private HS kids commonly attend public Middle schools...and then switch to Private schools in 9th grade?

Since this was Trinity's home game...the middle school info was not listed for Lutheran North...so I ask: Do most players that attend Lutheran North come from public or private Middle Schools?

Do the athletes on these teams pay full tuition and fees? Or are some of them given financial aid? If so...to what extent (% waiver) and what is the criteria for being awarded that financial aid?

I Coached both WITH and AGAINST Valle Catholic for years....and it always made me mad when I heard people claim that Valle cheated and recruited...because I lived in that town for nine years and I saw what Valle did first hand both from both sides.

All of Valle's kids came from parrish grade schools right there in Ste.Genevieve County...and all payed full, regular tuition which wasn't and still isn't a lot.

Nearly all of Ste.Genevieve County is Catholic. In fact...many of my better players during my years at Ste. Gen. HS were kids who attended parish Catholic grade schools...and could have very easily gone to Valle instead.

I know how frustrating it is to be accused of cheating because of what people assume...rather than what they know.

If these questions could be answered openly and honestly...it would help squelch the rumors. Thanks in advance if you can supply some honest answers.

That is funny. We actually do have a significant Amish population here, but I doubt they keep up with Lamar football. Would you settle for deer chilli? You folks in STL are probably in morning since your wine prices are going up due to all the vineyard fires in CA. We are good Busch Lite pricing should remain the same.
MoUrning.....so close!

I hope this wasn't a racially charged comment, that would be just poor taste - whats not poor taste however is anything ordered from Cap's Cabin!

A). No one HAS TO prove anything to you. MSHSAA governs eligibility. Just because YOU don't approve of/agree to/believe in ANY decision another kids' family makes doesn't mean anyone MUST PROVE squat to you. Post your tax returns and your birth certificate here and prove you aren't a tax cheat and that you're not a Russian hacker. FOH

I know about as much about what other people's financial situations are as I do about how many times a married couple gets busy behind closed doors. What does anyone's tuition amount have to do with whether they should attend a private school have to do with anything. Seriously. You want "real"? Here's "real". This is an issue on message boards because we're talking about predominately Black kids and families at private schools that (believe it or not) are relatively balanced racially.

If a private school is able to provide financial assistance to a kid, that doesn't mean that the kid is only getting it because of athletics. This is MISSOURI. Not Alabama or Georgia or Florida or Texas. What makes people here think that being Captain Fantastic for a high school team in Missouri is a golden ticket to success in Life? You ALL know MSHSAA is a joke. If Missouri was REALLY serious about being a high school football power, then why are we the ONLY SEC State without Spring Football? If you don't think THAT makes a difference then you've lived in this place for too long.

If you're honest with yourself then you know that families DO choose where to live based on the academic AND athletic quality of the district they live in. Just because it doesn't charge tuition to attend doesn't put anyone on superior moral ground. That's pure BS. Lamar doesn't cry about what ANY other school does because they WIN. That's the ONLY reason people cry about other schools ... because THEY aren't winning.

The World isn't conspiring against public schools. The Archdiocese of STL couldn't give a rat's a$$ about Class 2 football. The Earth ISN'T flat. Elvis ISN'T alive. And Tupac got shot because he was hanging out with gang members. It wasn't the Illuminati.

Chicken is delicious. It wasn't any more racially charged than me (kinda) joking about how "close" families in Lamar are.

Are you seriously implying that the problems people have with Trinity’s recruiting are racially motivated?

I'm saying that the problems have with Trinity are based upon the fact that "public school people" think that the World is conspiring against them in favor of "private school people". In STL ... I'm saying that, Yes, the schools that are faking injuries to avoid Trinity and Lutheran North ABSOLUTELY has to do with the fact that these are predominantly Black teams. Disagree all you want (IF you want to) but, just like YOU know how things "work" in SW MO, trust that I'm close enough to this situation here in STL to be able to say that without a doubt ... YES ... there's a major racial component to this situation. And that situation is why Clayton, St. Charles, DuBourg and Priory are lying to duck losing to LN and Trinity.

Not everything in this World has a racial component, but that doesn't mean that NOTHING in this World does.

No, they don't have to prove anything......that is the point. The claim from Trinity is that there should be no scrutiny of their new found greatness. If people are wrong to claim they went out and ASSEMBLED a monster team by other means than people choosing to pay for their kids to have a leg up, then show the claim to be wrong. They can give out the facts without saying who paid what. If people from the community helped with scholarships, show it. If there were a greater percentage of scholarships given to non athletes than athletes show it. It appears the neighbors think they "bought" talent and refuse to play in an uneven and stacked game. They seem to believe there should be repercussions to Trinities behavior. They may be right and they may be wrong but Trinity (and other similar schools) have the ability to show how it is......if they wanted to. Instead, the "crusaders" want to claim unfairness on the part of those who refuse to participate in the charade. They don't HAVE TO do anything but, it wouldn't take much effort if they have nothing to hide, to set the record straight.

By the way, I sent my kid to a PRIVATE school and fully support them.

Answer just one of my questions, please.

Do you think the fact that 29 out of 49 kids on a Catholic High School roster went to public Middle Schools instead of Catholic Middle Schools looks a little suspicious?

I support and believe in Catholic High Schools...but I have to admit I do think that seems a bit abnormal.

A handful or even dozen players attending Catholic HS coming from public schools...I could understand.

But 29 out of 49? That's 60% of a Catholic High School's roster coming from public Middle Schools...you don't think that raises an eyebrow or two?

I don't really know...maybe there is a similar trend in the other AAA Conference schools and Parochial schools all acrosss the region.

That's why I ask the question...is this unusual? Or not?

Here is Vianney's roster who just happens to be defending State Champs and is ranked #1 again this year in Class 5....but they almost ALL come from Parochial grade schools?: http://griffinfootball.weebly.com/uploads/2/5/5/0/25503601/2017_vianney_numerical_roster.pdf

No, it was not racially charged. Their chicken is really good. And, by the way, "racially charged" works the other way, too. You might want to take note of the post that started this banter. I might not completely agree with everything that crusader_2 is stating but I appreciate his humor.

I'd prefer Imos and White Castle...I can hook you up with some produce and straw hats though.
