Class 4 District 8 Best and Deepest in the state

I'm going to go out on a limb and say probably calpreps. ;) hahahaha
Maxpreps, Calpreps. Objective facts after 7 games. WC was Class 4 and beat Class 6 teams. Maryville and PH have a history of beating class 4 teams. Good football is good football. And they are both better than anyone Camdenton has played this year.

That's called an opinion, not a fact.

Get your opinions straight. And maybe check your facts in the process.

Maryville and Pleasant Hill rate higher than any opponent Camdenton has played to date.

They might rate higher based on some odd ball algorithm that doesn’t account for basic common sense.

But no one who has seen any of those teams play or who understands what they are watching would agree with that.

I’ll bet you can’t find an unbiased expert who has watched film of these teams or seen these teams play in person who would agree with that statement. In fact, I’ll bet the Pleasant Hill coaches themselves wouldn’t make such an assertion.

Continually trotting out some computer ranking as though it is the standard bearer of truth and fact is an odd way to live life and a break from reality. At this point, I am convinced it’s a good thing you don’t ever attend games, we’d have to keep an eye on you if you did.

Get help.

They are trotted out because that is all we have that is objective. Some bozo discounting Webb because they are Class 4 instead of Class 6 for example. I trust them to an extent, but the data improves the more games that are played. I use the eye test and computers. I picked Kearney over Webb by 2 in 2015. I picked Kearney over LN by 1. Mostly the eye test.

Facts say Class 4 Webb took out Class 6 Rockhurst, what, twice just a few years ago? At least one of those games was in KC too.

I agree with the notion good football is good football.

I trust objective data and numbers more than a panel of dipsticks. 810varsity in Kansas City has rankings that are only good for ridicule and laughter. Newsflash: after six weeks of football, Calpreps is pretty damned accrurate.

I've looked at calpreps a couple of times. Outside of state vs state stuff, what are you referencing? It appears to only cover Golden State teams.

The #1 fact is this: no class 4 District 8 team from this year has played any District 5 team, nor do they have any common opponents. So even a computer wouldn't have much factual data to use in its algorithms.

Objectively, Calpreps has most of the hypothetical matchups between the top half of one district against the top half of the other as pretty close matchups. So I doubt that Calpreps would make a claim that one district is stronger and deeper than the other.

Subjectively, you seem to not want to let it go.

I'm hopeful that someday Joey your posts will bring the rest of us some chuckles like Flint222. For now, they are irritating to many but most likely that is your intention.

I only brought it to the forefront because on a previous post, someone was bloviating about the superiority of District 5... Just wanted to bring a counterpoint and proof to back it up. The records, the strength of the opponents, and the computer models show two pretty even districts with one top heavy in district 5. One with more depth in quality teams in District 8.

I agree that we are top 2 are significantly better than the rest. I just think the 3, 4, and 5 teams would be good games. Like I said before I am not completely sold on the Ozark Conference.
